The sky is not falling, the floor is just crumbling beneath you.

The American people are being mugged. This is basically an old-fashioned heist, disguised as politics. We tried to warn you. The modus operandi of Republicans, the through-line of right-wing politics, is to transfer wealth (and thus political power) from the poor to the rich. This goal cuts through all other issues. It's how Republicans hold their coalition together.

It's a stick-up. A robbery. You're being robbed. Empty your pockets.

And not to let Dems off the hook... they were unable to defend against these cuts because three Dems who couldn't surrender power died around the same time. How many times do we have to go through this? You can draw a line from RGB's inability to surrender power to the collapse of America.

But can we really blame RBG for not having the forethought to see what a cheater McConnell would be? Yea, she should have retired earlier, but this is more on Moscow Mitch than RBG.

That would be the social security system. Older Americans are the richest age group, and the under 40 crowd are the poorest.

That's odd because when I was 40, I was earning 3 times as much as I do now that I'm retired. The wealth I have now is accumulated over the years as it should be. I am by no means wealthy because of Social Security.

May be an image of 1 person and text that says 'Rev. Benjamin Cremer @brcremer.bsky.socia was hungry and you cut SNAP. was thirsty and you cut funding to ensure clean water. ㅣ was sick and you cut medicaid. was a stranger and you deported me. I was in prison and you just left me there to rot. Whatever you do to the least of these, you do unto me. -Jesus'

Well now they're going away (mostly), but the orange man is still bad? o_O
YES! Always was - always will be. He can't help himself. His feet don't even hit the floor in the morning without him cogitating new and better ways to give a little more to those who need it the least, at the expense of giving much less to those who need it the most. His stunted emotional development won't allow his brain to function any other way. Orange man is always the victim, and anywhere he points his finger is the perpetrator.

I mean, we've known all along what the Good Ole Party represents. They are a known, known.

The Democrats are just a saaad sack. An assisted living facility posing as a party. Or given their penchant for insider trading, maybe they're aptly described as a resort retirement community.

This is the oddest progressive taxation argument I have ever read. If that is your goal (we know it isn't), we have more precise methods of measuring individual wealth than looking at the date of birth. At least you can use those to determine individual wealth.

The passage of this bill seems to upset a lot of people.

Question: What should the tax rates be for the various income brackets....??

..

FIX THE F**KING TAX CODE.
FIX F**KING SOCIAL SECURITY.
FIX EVERY F**KING THING THAT NEEDS FIXING.
AND MOST OF ALL, HOLD EVERY F**KING POLITICIAN ACCOUNTABLE FOR ACCOMPLISHING WHAT THEY'VE BEEN ELECTED TO DO.
START RECOGNIZING THE FACT THAT THE DIVISION BETWEEN VOTERS ONLY GIVES POLITICIANS AN EXCUSE FOR DOING LITTLE OR NOTHING.

Those numbers don't really seem to far off from the current tax rates....

..
Maybe this helps:

1. Each individual with a total income equal or greater than 1/4 the Federal minimum wage, ( $7.25 x 2085 / 4 ) should be required to file and pay Federal income tax.
2. Total gross income, regardless of source or form would be taxed with no allowed exemptions, deductions, loopholes, adjustments.
3. There would be 5 permanent progressive tax rates of 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 37%.
4. The 5 tax rates would be applied to income of up to 1, 2, 3, 4, and greater than 4 times the GNI per person, with tables adjusted each year relative to the GNI per person.
5. Any projected Federal budget deficit would be resolved, when possible, by a surtax multiplier applied to the tax owed, not to exceed a predetermined maximum.
6. Any revenue surplus would be left for Congress to decide if it should be used to reduce the debt, and/or be used by those with gross income in the lower 4 OR just the lowest tax bracket(s) as a surtax multiplier of less than 1.
7. FICA tax and associated Trust funds would be eliminated, and made part of the Public held debt allowing Social Security and Medicare to be administered and funded through the general revenue fund.
8. Social Security benefits would no longer be associated with FICA taxable income, but primarily on age and citizenship. Details still a work in progress.
9. There would be 11 annually inflation adjusted Social Security benefit amounts determined by the age one first begins receiving benefits. ( Remains a work in progress. )
10. Naturalized citizens, who were naturalized at age 45 or more would be ineligible for reduced benefits at an age less than 67.

My taxes this year were 19.8% of my taxable income.
Under the above plan and tax table my taxes would have been 18.5% of my gross income, which would have been about $1,700 more tax, and my only deduction was the standard deduction.

I detest this money grab by the GOP, so don't misunderstand me. Here are the lyrics of a beautiful song by Paul Overstreet.

Richest Man on Earth

I've heard tell of millionaires
And billionaires and such
Who gathered all their treasures
And still did not have enough
If money could buy peace of mind
I guess they'd have it all
But all the money in the world
Won't hold you when you fall

We've got a roof over our head
And the kids have all been fed
And the woman I love most
Lies close beside me in our bed
Lord, give me the eyes to see
Exactly what it's worth
And I will be the richest man on earth

Lord, when I wish I had the things
That you gave someone else
I pray that you'll forgive me
For just thinkin' of myself
I haven't been as thankful
As I know I ought to be
I should be more then satisfied
With all you've given me

We've got a roof over our head
And the kids have all been fed
And the women I love most
Lies close beside me in our bead
Lord, give me the eyes to see
Exactly what it's worth
And I will be the richest man on earth

One thing is for certain
It don't matter when you die
If you had a million
Or if you just got by

We've got a roof over our head
And the kids have all been fed
And the women I love most
Lies close beside me in our bead
Lord, give me the eyes to see
Exactly what it's worth
And I will be the richest man on earth

Yes, I will be the richest man on earth

The largest transfer of wealth is from those yet born to those living and those who die with unpaid debt.
We live beyond the means of the unborn.
