My guess is she tagged you in some political thread and you’re still butt-hurt.Right. Common sense.
Which she would know if she had actually attempted to do any of it.
I dont know how anyone that posts here all day every day even has time to run a big time construction business.Must be multi talented. I wish I were multi talented.
If only shit talking was a good job, you'd be rich. Chill!! Enough with the construction PTSD!Right. Common sense.

What the hell is going on?
I've applied to over 500 jobs in the past two years. I've gotten virtual/phone interviews for about 20. I have interviewed in person for less than 10. I've received offers for 2.
Retail, food service, IT, clerical.
I've had my resume punched up multiple times.
In the interviews, I am polite, friendly, and focused. Even though I do have ADHD, which makes it difficult to answer open ended questions (which seem to be recruiters/managersHR/etc's favorite form of question)
This shit is miserable
work from home / set your own hours /independent contractor ( we pay all taxes - LO's does not)Sounds like a cool job. I might pass this on to my daughter! TY!
It sounds really interesting. Setting your own hours and all the flexibility sounds nice! I run the office for our company now and it's better but still a lot of times I'm out the door doing sales in person.work from home / set your own hours /independent contractor ( we pay all taxes - LO's does not)
also it's a meritocracy. one gets paid per minute of talk time on the phone. the better you do in your program
more calls you get..ideally you want 1 call after another - down time doesnt pay you.
I loved the job because im a natural salesperson - but most emphasis is now on various CS or support jobs
Somewhat of an update. Got a job unloading trucks and stocking shelves.
Yeah, due to DLLM, the job market is decreasing and those that hire know this. So they try to force you to do many things to just get an offer. What the hell is going on?

Yeah, you might want to use a temp agency. There's not a lot of recourse out there for most individuals without skills. And, even with skills, you are not looking at a good time.Somewhat of an update. Got a job unloading trucks and stocking shelves.
Ended up falling this past Monday and hit my head on a steel support beam and getting a concussion
Workman's comp is not paying me for the time I missed, and won't for any time I miss in the next week because I wasn't hospitalized (and because I'm not full time, I am scheduled whenever they need me and schedules are only made a week in advance)
I can't return until I'm evaluated by an occupational health clinic. My job has no HR. My store manager handles authorizations. She is on vacation until Jan 5th
Maybe I ought to harass those temp agencies everyone tells me to apply to because this shit sucks

Excellent news. Very few concussions in the financial services industry.Another update:
Accepted a full-time position at a financial institution
No more early mornings unloading thousands of pounds of freight

I start tomorrow (assuming I pass the assessment in about 2 hours)Nice.
There is still upward mobility in this country for some.
I started off as a factory worker and now I work in ML.
Lie on your resume. What the hell is going on?

Very true. I'd never been so insecure and anxious in my lifeJob hunting kills souls.
I don't know that I'll ever be a business owner. I don't know if I have any interests or obsessions that I could put to a business planI went into business for myself and was never happier. at first its scary as shit, but once the momentum builds up you are better off. You can deduct everything including cable tv!
That's pretty awesome.I merely took my love of plants and gardening and went pro, as charging $65 an hour at the end and turning some work down simply because I could.
Maybe I just haven't figured out what those are yetYou have skills you didn't know were marketable.
Disagree. It is reality. The first person who makes excuses, loses. No one owes you a job. You look for the opportunities you want, and if you can't find them , you MAKE them. LUCK is where opportunity meets preparation.

I agree-----except the last sentence is not always true. I was in high-pressure sales once in my career, and it was the easiest job on earth to get, but 97% of the initial hires did not last a month. It depends on the job. I sold insurance in the 1970s and we had a 95% turnover rate..........both jobs were "easy" to get(mostly).....I once was in the market for a new sales person. As I closed off applications I had a woman call me, who I informed I had had to close off applications...there were just too many. As I left for the day a woman braced me in the parking garage and thrust her resume at me. The covering letter said only "here's why you need me..."
I hired her on the spot.
If she was that intent on getting the job she would be even more driven by commissioned sales.
I was right. She replaced me as manager when I left.
Looking for a job is ten times harder than keeping a job.
There’s so much competition these days. Plus with ChatGPT applicants can put together a resume that inflates their actual skills. Use your personality to your advantage. People hire people as much as they hire for experience. What the hell is going on?
