the Jack in the Green, an old English Custom

a person is covered in green foliage and goes around like a walking tree.
on May Day or on Pentecost

have you heard of it?
My guess is that Jehovah Witnesses never heard of it, but will have something to say when they do...

Remember that the next time you read an article in the Watch Tower regarding the celebration of Thanksgiving, CHRISTMAS, and Easter and wish to share it with someone who doesn't attend your Kingdom Hall.

Therefore, Christian men, be sure, while God’s gifts possessing,
You who now will bless the poor shall yourselves find blessing. Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Take heed of your own German. In other words, take your own advice. As my dad would say, "If you can't take it, don't dish it out." and also, "If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen."

I'm used to dealing with hatred...

Rumpelstil:

Heard about him? I met him on the Durdham/Clifton Downs in Bristol. He was accompanied by other mythical figures lavishly dressed. There were Morris Dancers plus late Medieval knights and men-at-arms jousting and meleeing too. Strangely Jack and his entourage smelled strongly of cider and beer. Perhaps they were fermenting? I also met the Obby 'Oss which looked like a hybrid between a cylindrical black horse and a weird witch-like dancer at the Padstow May Fair in Cornwall.

Cheers and be well.
Evilroddy.
