Regardless of what society says men play an important role society. We are a much needed and valued resource than
what is put out there today. There is nothing wrong with being a man and the most important part a man can be is a father.
The listed benefits of having a father are well documented. Given that yesterday was Fathers Day i thought I would list the benefits
of father.

They are more likely to graduate high school and go to college.

Studies show children with involved fathers, stepdads or father figures are less likely to get in trouble with the law, tend to do better in school and are more likely to hold a job.
Kids without attentive fathers, Pruett said, are three times as likely to find themselves in the juvenile justice system before the age of 18 compared to those with involved fathers.
Children with involved fathers are more likely to delay sexual activity, which means lower cases of teenage pregnancy, said Pruett.
A 2016 article in Sex Roles found U.S. teenagers with supportive fathers have greater optimism and self-efficacy, which translates to better school achievement. The results occurred even for fathers with little education and limited English. Daughters, in particular, performed better in math. Sons did better in language.
Children with involved fathers are better problem solvers and better deal with frustration, Pruett said.
University of Michigan psychology professor Brenda Volling adds men are more likely to engage in "rough and tumble" play with children, which theory suggests helps kids regulate their emotions.
Do not let this society tell us that we are not needed or that we do not play a major role.
we play a huge roll in the lives of people that mean the most to us.

Who says we're not important? My kids showed me how important I am to them yesterday...and everyday.
Yes. I am not sure what part of society is saying men are not important. I have not been getting that message.
My family put on a huge Father's Day brunch party for me yesterday. My parents and the in-laws and lots of friends and relatives were there. It was a lot of fun!

As a father, I'm surprised to learn how I'm so reviled by society. You sound threatened. Why don't you smile more?
Its the internet, have you read any of the pro-men and anti-women stuff? There's lots on this site in fact. Why don't you give us an example of society demonizing fathers.I guess you guys haven't been reading too many of the anti-men things that have been going around forever.

Nice post on an important topic. I see it’s getting the expected reception, unfortunately.
I guess you guys haven't been reading too many of the anti-men things that have been going around forever.
add me to the list of people that hadnt heard that men arent valued in society anymore.
If men dont remain in their kids' lives whose fault is that?
They have the right to joint custody, unless there are criminal or other such reasons.
Today, the laws apply equally to men and women...if the laws 'are not applied equally', that's the fault of judges...who are still mostly males.
Name some 'anti-male' thing that isnt something wrong or negative that men actually do? I mean, is this stuff being invented?
There also is the issue of laws being unequally applied.
These are the key words right here. It doesn't matter if that father figure is a member of their household or not. It also doesn't matter if that person follows the stereotypical "father roles". A good father figure can be a stay at home dad. A nurturing man. One who like pink and is willing to have tea parties with his kids, boys or girls. These are all great dad's. Involved is the most important thing.

You're overlooking an important point. Of course feminine men can still be good fathers, but being a good father also entails helping your son through his natural biological development. When your 16 year old starts farting, scratching his balls, playing contact sports because he wants to express himself physically, or any other masculine traits, a good father needs to be there to relate to his behaviour. To let him know there's nothing wrong with him or the particular urges he feels.
If, on the other hand, the feminine father was against his son's masculine behaviour, or at least constantly said he finds it repulsive, that would make him a terrible father.
Regardless of what society says men play an important role society.
.
That makes absolutely no sense what so ever.
