Let us say for example that we have a new corona virus with an R0 of three....the medical system in America is collapsed because it can not function without supplies from China, and they have declared a national emergency and are keeping all production for themselves. I mean come on, the Chinese were always clear that they come first in an emergency, this was obviously going to be what happened, though our Failed Intelligentsia never figured it out. Then again how was this going to turn out differently...they almost always fail.
So you have a better than 70% chance of getting the bug since you dont have proper protection (it comes from China) , and since the medical system is kapot you have a 20% of dying if you catch it. You cant do anything for the the suffering medically because there are no drugs....they came from China once but no longer do...your mission has become to help people to die as they expect you to save them but you cant.....and this is not your fault....your leaders failed you.

I dont have an answer because this is a question I am pondering but cant solve....the solution is not obvious to me. When are my obligations to the community and to my country and too my species end in order to save my own life, a life that was put in danger by a betrayal from my leaders?
