It's hidden in plain sight - invisible because it's only noticed when people talk politics which isn't that often. But a third of the country is basically in a misinformation bubble cult with a whole false set of national issues and facts and history fed to them by propagandists.

For just one example, it's just common knowledge to that third of the country that on 1/6, Nancy Pelosi was the cause. trump offered her 10,000 - or was it 100,000 - national guard to secure the Capitol, and she refused then. It was all a setup to attack trump.

I've heard this first hand, people will say it but refuse to discuss it because they're very angry anyone questions it.

I've also seen trump say it, which is where it comes from.

How many people have people they know where they avoid politics because of this issue? How many states have delusional governing by corrupt forces because so many are in this cult? It puts the country in real danger, and it's not going anywhere because it's fueled by the trillions in wealth of the oligarchs, and protected by the court rulings they have arranged.

It's very hard to get through to the cult. It might happen for 1 in 1,000 or 1 in 10,000. Every day, turn on the same mass media 'alternate' right-wing sources.

I guess everyone knows this, no comment?

As long as the Oligarchs can keep the white working class on their side they can keep getting legislation written in their favor.

Tax cuts for the rich
No tax increases on them
Deregulation to increase corporate profits
Continue to whittle away at the social safety net
Use the military to protect/increase foreign corporate profits

Divide and conquer

All they have to do is use right wing media to continue to feed that white working class the hatred bigotry and fear they so crave.

What you’re saying is not really even that controversial. Fox’s listeners themselves know a lot of the stuff they listen to is fake. But it’s entertaining. They listen to it not because they want to hear facts and learn about the world, but because it’s entertaining and shows them what they want to see. So in that way, its popularity is no different than pornography or WWE wrestling. It’s all staged and fake- but that’s exactly it’s appeal.

It’s just far more socially corrosive and damaging than just watching pornography or the staged violence of the WWE. So in that way it’s like a dangerous drug like meth or cocaine. It makes people feel good, but it really tears at the social fabric, destroys relationship, propagates crimes, etc…

The main question now is: given the freedom of speech and press in this country, what can we do about it?

I can't answer this question because it would likely get me banned from this site. But I will say this. Being kind to these folks just isn't working anymore.

'When they go low, we go high' went out the window back on J-6. I guess the best thing the vast majority of us can do is register to vote and take these asshats out of their jobs.

Is it your objective to deprogram members of the cult you describe? Or just to complain about them?

oh yeah. has been since limbaugh.

and the most gullible Americans (who are scared to death that the America of the 1950s is gone) just keep getting suckered (or choose to lie and cheat and steal).

I mean there is so many people that believe non-sense

BOTH sides

blame the political parties for dividing the nation - because they have, and they've done it beautifully and until a 3rd party rises, they will control all of us

It's a huge money maker, that's all that matters to them.

All that you project onto the right, is what the left has already accomplished, WRT media and information bubble.

Consider this thread where this this has been litigated already.

I've noticed that as leftist policies fail and your propaganda lies are exposed, you lose popularity.
So your reaction is to double down on the leftist insanity.
It won't work.
Neither will the rightist insanity, which has proven to be criminal.

Some are so focused on a single tree that they fail to see the shade of the forest they are subject to.

It's funny though that they haven't figured out yet that the more they try, the more they fail. :)
Do you suppose they ever really take the time to realize that the non-stop Trump resistance, and cult blather is backfiring in their general direction?

They'll be the last to know that they are addicted to self-projection. Some are completely unaware that they are disassociated from reality.

Doesn't that apply to any news organization?
I could be persuaded to agree on a certain few, but most seek to report facts. The con right Trump propaganda machine is overwhelmingly reliant on long proven lies because Donald Trump himself cannot tell the truth now, or ever again.

Yes. Actually the Trump movement today is largely just about spite and "owning the libs"- not really about any specific policy details.

Like what?

Shouldn't you be directing the above rhetoric to the trolling thread maker, who is attempting to own those he labels the "right-wing cult"?

Like what?
Like from everything. :coffee:
