Koch. Addleston. Musk. Heritage. Project 2025. Judicial Watch. Federalist Society. Dozens of other billionaire donors. Dozens of other corporate donors. And more.
These are ongoing threats to democracy. They've been winning, gaining wealth and power, for decades. Reportedly over $50 trillion shifted to the rich by their policies. They're very powerful in government, see donations, see lobbying, and more. They've taken over the Supreme Court, they capture all government regulation when in power.
This election - 'the country's democracy is at stake' - isn't totally new. There have been big threats for decades, and these threats aren't going away in 2028, 2032... every election is 'must-win', which is not sustainable.
Democrats have no guns for the gunfight, no organizations to counter the Republicans, no counter for Heritage, no counter for the Federalist Society, etc.
This fight for oligarch rule in the US greatly accelerated as of Nixon. Democrats need to better at building organization to counter it in the longer term, not just trying to win each election. They're not even talking about it. Republicans are doing a lot more than talk.
