I can understand that...how about people who are not officially disabled just obese? Obesity is crippling..These young fat people are a ticking time bomb for the future..
Obesity is a very real problem.
It seems in the animal kingdom most animals ( excluding pets ) are within normal weight ranges for their species.
There are many reasons people gain weight including over eating but it looks like certain chemicals also trigger obesity including a link to certain antibiotics that were taken during childhood.
Steroids are given to people with painful joints, backs, knees etc and these too can cause weight gain.
Medical science is working on this problem but I personally think part of the hold up is there is so much money to made in the diet industry that some really do not want to find the real cause and a real solution to obesity.
This is true..no wild animals are ever fat..and I have never seen an overweight bird...
Usually fat people are from a low income family...i.e. food stamps..
Who buy crap instead of fresh food for their families..and are too lazy to make the effort..
Yeah you don't see too many rich fat people because like Oprah they have personal trainers , personal chefs, etc. or they get weight loss surgery like Gov. Christy.
What isn't a lie is that you mischaracterized it.
And your qualifications to determine who is and who is not eligible are????????
What percentage of people who are receiving disability do you see fishing and enjoying themselves while working? Hint: "A lot" is not a valid answer.
Great, I am debating a person who doesn't understand the purpose of a question mark.
Rocketman, (as opposed to rocket scientist) is English your native language?
I know more than 10 presently and I live in a small town
If you think they are scamming, have you reported them?
Interesting that nobody has answered my question about how much is given to 'scammers' in comparison to how much is spent on corporate welfare or invading other countries...
I have reported 4 of them, nothing was done, it would reduce the democratic base
No one has answered because tax breaks within the law are not welfare and it is asinine to say they are
Or maybe they were not scamming.
I am not talking about tax breaks.
when they can play, fish, and ride motorcycles they are scamming no question
Wow, what an ignorant thing to say.
when they can play, fish, and ride motorcycles they are scamming no question
Maybe you need to tell that to the state of Florida.
They have special lciences for hunting or fishing for the disabled.
The strategy of today's Progressives... let's see who was President when the rules were loosened? It was 1984 and the President was Reagan and the Republicans controlled the Senate. When did the skyrocket take off? 2000 the same year BushII took office and it has climbed at a pretty consistent rate ever since.
I agree with Maggie it is cheaper to keep them on a small stipend and open the remaining jobs we have here in this country to folks who want them, and are eager to work.
Oh a few questions... this man you say took disability as an early retirement... what do you call a decent early retirement? What state is this? how many other disability recipients have everything paid for?
Maybe you need to tell that to the state of Florida.

When asked why he robbed banks, Slick Willie Sutton famously answered, “Because that’s where the money is.” Today, millions of Americans appear to have jumped onto our disability rolls for the very same reason. Today, 8.8 million Americans – nearly 6 percent of our workforce – claim they are physically incapable of working.
Add in dependents, and the figure swells to nearly 10.9 million. The number has grown every month since January 1997, when there was a small dip, and has grown faster than the number of added annually to the workforce. For the United States, this is an expensive proposition. The Social Security Administration spent $137 billion on disability last year; Medicare costs for this group tack on another $80 billion, since folks on disability automatically qualify for Medicare.

I talk to people everyday in my line of work that get disability that have no business getting it.
If you think they are scamming, have you reported them?

Yeah, I hear excuses like I have "back pain" then you see them in Florida after a 10-12 hour car ride, WTF?
Also a lot of people on Food Stamps that drive BMW's?? How does that work?
Does that really happen? kidding Poor is not defined the same way it used to be
The Democrats controlled Congress in 1984 and had been in control for 40 years.
Congress has two chambers, the dems controlled the House but not the Senate. If Reagan didn't want the bill he could have veto's it and seen if the senate would over ride.
