The lesson here is to keep the state out of it entirely, because no matter what it does it is going to make us worse off.

Sorry id rather the congress be a thousand strong or stronger, then this joke, were representative democracy, and old white people do not share the same sentiments as every single American. Do not even understand there culture, how can they represent them?

That's why they're called "representatives" and not "delegates" (do you know the difference?)
 
The three-branch government is only practical for small close-knit ideologically aligned populations. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” The problem is that the diversity of people that the nation has evolved to and the proliferation of overlapping grievance groups have overwhelmed the simple deliberation system of the bicameral legislatures, which is where the state and national discussions are supposed to be conducted, and not in between commercial breaks.

Before you present the difference, please explain how we measure the differences in definitions?
It is really hard to comprehend how there can be a "huge difference," when the traditional dictionaries suggest that they are synonyms.

So you don't know the difference between a representative and a delegate - as I thought

There are strict rules as to how much a person or corporation can donate:

Contribution limits - FEC.gov

The federal contribution limits that apply to contributions made to a federal candidate's campaign for the U.S. House, U.S. Senate or U.S. President. Includes limits that apply to individual donations, as well as to contributions by political action committees (PACs) and party committees to...

If you doubt this and just want to sound "smart" with your cynical posts, please can you identify any member of Congress, who's violated these limits.
 
Hard to say as private donations and gifts ant normally a factor, and honestly all you need is a group to pool money for mutual benefited goals.

But even without that 'corporations shouldn't ever been in our politics just like god,

Representatives and delegates are NOT synonyms

A representative, as the name suggests, represents the people in his/her voting district
That means that he/she votes/speaks/lobbies in Congress, in what he/she thinks is in their best interests of the people they represent, and not necessarily what they actually want on any given issue

Whereas a delegate attends a meeting/legislature/convention (typically to decide a single issue), and votes in accord with the majority in his/her voting district
An example would be the people voting for a party's presidential candidate. They cannot (or should not) vote for any candidate other than what transpired in an earlier vote in their voting district.
 

Corporate america is well represented in congress for sure, wish we the people were.

ie: you don't know of any politicians who are basically bribed by corporations and vote the way their corporate donors tell them to

That's a fair point. Certainly I think that no publicly owned corporation should make any political donation, without a mandate from the stock holders

As for God. Well people have the right to vote for who they want. If they want to vote for a bible thumping politician, you can't legitimately stop them from doing so.
 
Lets see, wag rights, medical rights, lgbtq rights, productive rights, womens rights, black america as a whole, imagination rights.


We can start with that, or we can talk 'bout how are working class is treated like indentured servants, forced to give up there life to a job, abandoned there children so that there is food and housing
Or how about the housing market atd bank bailouts.
 
I like your idea here, but it needs work. I think the "best interest," and "according to the majority," is too difficult to distinguish, and unnecessary if we can define delegates as temporary and limited.

i think it very crass of you to insist that everybody should know the difference. Good thing you pay to be a member here.

Is into bad faith arguments, you can see it in hd in my one thread on the constitution.

He likes to detract, ignore, or nitpick a argument to death vs actually putting forth the same effort.

Also im a disabled writer that struggles to type, and i put forth , by the looks of it far more effort to deconstruct his arguments, then he to me.
