Just read in today’s paper of the firing by Pam Bondi of Michael Gordon, a “highly regarded prosecutor,” “two days after receiving yet another outstanding performance review.” No justification was mentioned in Bambi’s — er Bondi’s letter.

Apparently the DOJ has fired or demoted more than two dozen prosecutors of Jan 6 offenders. So Trump pardons people who destroyed property and beat up cops and has fired the people who prosecuted those who destroyed property and beat up cops. Sort of perverse symmetry.

The most corrupt administration ever.

The cuts to the FBI mean a lowering of recruitment standards. No more dedicated law grads; they'll replace them with barely literate Proud Boy thugs like they're doing with ICE.

Let's describe trump's governing for what it is - the radical corruption, authoritarian domination, political domination and destruction of government like never seen. trump is destroying huge parts of government for corrupt reasons to benefit oligarchy and harm the country, destroying anything not aligned with his fanatical hateful politics and important agencies like medical research and weather tracking as well. He fired the team maintaining nuclear weapons and had to try to hire them back. But the government he is keeping, in contrast to the non-political traditional approach, they're all evaluated for their political support of him, and anyone who won't lie for him is fired, and top level officials are grilled on things like who they voted for and that willingness to lie. It's something our country never thought could be done.

Low quality people is always part of a highly politicized hiring, which is why it's normally prohibited to get the best people. Authoritarians don't care. The country is harmed. With trump it's even worse than normal.

It's not that we've never seen it before on some things, but not close to this.

As an example, when Bush took over the occupation of Iraq and rebuilding, he didn't put good people in charge.

He put a disastrous political hack in charge who disbanded the army and created the insurgency, firing the entire civil government, and went to - guess who - heritage foundation to hire only right-wing people for positions and had kids who had not had a job in charge of important functions, hurting Iraq a lot, further causing resentment leading to years of needless insurgency and our having to withdraw and be kicked out.
