The kid is a hero and probably doesn't even know it.

Btw, tell me again why THIS type of stuff has to happen.

Because Pete Hegseth thinks it's worth it.
  • "But I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment".
Millions upon millions agree. So kids are going to die.

I think you mean Charlie Kirk.

It would be worth it to repeal and replace the Second Amendment with more sensible standards so that we can allow gun ownership and more effectively address gun violence.

We don’t even have to repeal it. All we have to do is regulate it.
We need a national gun registry. We need to require gun owners to undergo psyche testing prior to purchase. That would never hold up as not being 'infringed.'

A ten year old girl in Uvalde took blood off her dead friend and smeared her own face to fool the shooter.
Kids in American schools learn all kinds of stuff other kids never learn.

Everyone forgets about that “well regulated militia “ part.
Gun proponents do. Many of them think the purpose of the 2A is so they can defend themselves against a 'tyrannical government.' No. The purpose was to be able to quickly raise an army to defend the nation. That is why the well regulated militia is mentioned. But the gun proponents always ignore that part.

True. We must remember that when this nation was formed, we had no army. We had to depend on the armed citizens to protect the country. But they wanted it to be regulated.

Totally concur. The idea that some would have to die to protect the right to own guns was never envisioned nor discussed. That comes out of the extremist American right wing and the mouths of the NRA.

25 or so years later some of those militias were part of the invasion of Canada, and some of them turned tail and went home when they heard the guns in the distance.
One effect of the War of 1812 was it taught the American government the value of a standing army. Didn't affect the 2nd Amendment though.

It happens because people are morally bankrupt...

Our children face trauma that children in other countries don’t.

Generations of them at this juncture.

And the impacts of that? I don’t think we fully grasp.
