The AP is taking Trump to court on 1rst and 5th amendment violations

And when Obama skipped over FOX for a few briefings and interviews with some administration officials, you were all hunky-dory with that because you all knew it was a "privilege, not a right"? You all just shrugged and let it happen without complaint, right?

C'mon now...
Fox isnt really a news outlet. Their stories are agreed before any press conference.

This lawsuit is moving forward. The judge did not dismiss it. Paramount wants to settle. CBS will lose. It will most certainly be brought up in trial that in the past, CBS tried to stop Bush 45 from winning with the lies, slander, and forged documents.

CBS, being a powerhouse influencer for the bias to the left, needs to be ruined.
Yeah, of course Paramount wants to settle. They're looking to sell off to another company and that may take Trump's approval. If Paramount doesn't settle, Trump will surely block the sale.

So it's best for Paramount to settle, even if CBS did nothing wrong.

Don't be so sure. After he took a swing at a female WH intern the Trump administration tried to take Jim Acosta's so-called hard pass for press conferences. This would have forced him to reapply for each press availability event. A Federal Judge ruled against the Trump administration on the grounds there were no published rules of conduct as if assault wasn't a crime.

I base my assertions on how the case will settle out after decisions and appeals. There is always a chance that an activist judge will make an initial judgement that asserts that the AP has more power than the White House, but initial statements by the judge in these hearings doesn't seem like it.

Hope you are correct.

Kim Jung Biden rushed to the WH following the inaguration to sign 46 executive orders including canceling the already approved Keystone pipeline. Democrats cheered.

But when the Bad Orange Man follows the precedent of Kim Jung Biden by issuing multiple XO the same hypocritical Democrats whine it's utterly pointless.

Too bad the consequences of Kim Jung Biden's betrayal to the members of the pipefitters union aren’t so trivial.
Biden’s decision had its basis in his different view of the environment and energy policy.

Trump’s attempt to rename the Gulf of Mexico is his normal egotistical horse shit. Trump obviously feared that of late Musk seemed to be a bigger dick than he is. Stay tuned. Time will tell if this tips the dickishness scale.

No, Biden signing more XO on his first day in office than Obama did in 8 years had to do with Kim Jung Biden’s view of himself as a potentate. After nearly 40 years in the Senate and 8 years as VP he supposedly knew how to get a bill passed into law. But he decided Kim Jung Biden didn't need to bother with that.

Oh sorry, did you think he was renaming it to the Gulf of Trump? Or, are you a Biden dead ender holding out for a continuation of his Uncle Sucker America Last foreign policy?

The Trump administration just won the case.
Not exactly. Yesterday's hearing was not the case. It was the AP seeking temporary relief until the case is heard. That is what Trump won.

This is an interesting discussion. It does appear they have a good case
He has no actual right or. mandate to rename the Gulf of Mexico.
And certainly not punish an orgamisation for regusing to comply with what is just a decree.
He has actually banned the AP from White House press briefings for continuing to call it the Gullf of Mexico. Its a move of stunning pettiness by a child.

I thought that this was just a first amendment issue but they make clear that ifs a fifth issue because the AP werre denied due process.

I future historians will llook at this and shake their heads. A crazy man using public funds to pursue whims and private vendettas while half the world is at war.

Its just so petty.

Maf King Ludwig was possibly the craziest man in history but at least he built pretty castles.

Being invited to the White House Briefings is a privilege, not a right.

AP has no standing.

Let's see what the court decides.
Let's see if they can get an Obama judge to even hear it. This is little more than toddlers throwing a temper tantrum.

I honestly don't understand why Trump is so interested in renaming the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America, nor do I really care about it one way or the other.

Ok, so what? I assume much of what he signed was to undue some of what Trump had done.

No, I think that it was just Trump being a jerk. What’s next, renaming New Mexico? And, as I posted, should Mexico respond with similar third-grade level jerk-hood, and rename the Gulf of California the Gulf of Sonora?

And give me a break with the “America Last” BS. (Hint: if Biden had lost to Trump - unlike Donald - he would have accepted it.). Presidents support what they perceive to be in the nation’s best interest. One exception has been Trump, who has put Trump first in various ways.

I agree, but it still is a win.

Setting aside the issue of Kim Jung Biden bypassing Congress to get his way like a dictator for the moment. If it's OK for Biden to use XO to undo Trump's policies then it's fine for Trump to do likewise to reverse. Biden set a dangerous precedent that Trump followed.

What ought to be next is the AP accepting the Gulf of America name.

Kim Jung Biden believes in a policy of America Last. NATO deadbeats operated with impunity, Ukrainian aid was pumped out with no conditions or accountability, government jobs were filled according to DEI goals not qualifications, massive increase in inflation with price spikes, waivers for Iranian oil sales, and lifting trade restrictions to allow Chinese dumping of green energy equipment on the US markets.

Roughly $20 million in payments laundered through shell LLC to the Biden crime family isn't a President doing what he thinks is right. It's putting America last.

If you can find a post where I complained about that, you can level your charge of hypocrisy. If you can't -- and I'm telling you you can't -- then you're just making shite up in an effort to deflect the conversation away from the point.

Because Trump is a true reflection of Americans. He is who we are as a culture. When people like @NatMorton say Democrats didn’t put a better candidate they are right in the sense that Democrats didn’t put up a candidate that was a piece of shit which is what Americans wanted.
No, that is what the MAGA terrorists wanted.

Most of us did not.

A "free press" is not stymied by a target/focus/hoped-for source refusing to answer questions or even to acknowledge them.

Free speech doesn't compel others to answer questions or even give anyone an opportunity to ask. All it allows for is the person/news agency/whatever to "publish" their own views.

No one is required to answer questions posed by media, the news can still print what they want. There is no law or requirement that anyone has to answer the questions of the Press. As the current Administration says, it is a PRIVILEGE to get a chance to interview/question the President.
This is correct.

And there's nothing saying they have to talk TO him to write ABOUT him.

Which should prove interesting.

So Trump can just rename London and everyone just has to go along with the madness?
No other president has renamed a geographic area, ever. This is so dumb. What next, will presidents rename mountains and shit?

I really hope Obama gets a 3rd term and just goes wild renaming as much as he can in red states just for the lols.

The more pointless the better.

I looked it up: Obama already trolles red states by renaming mountains.

Apparently people lost their minds then as well.

If the AP judge shops, I think they could get a lower court win, but I can't see it sticking with politically neutral court.

You might want to update the post. The government lawyers couldn't tell the judge a single way in which the payments authorized by Congress were restored. I believe the deadline is midnight tonight in order to comply with his ruling yesterday.
