This was on Fox News and a little dated but Church is listed at #6.

That seems totally backwards and just wrong.

"6. In church
Church can create a false sense of intimacy between members, or between a leader and a member, Macleod said. People may open up about their marriage problems, looking for comfort, not realizing that others may take advantage of that vulnerability or else develop feelings for that person."

I'd bet that now the Net is #1.

My bedroom would be #1

I have to apologize for not being able to pass up this one, but if the affair is not "concluded" in the bedroom, something isn't working quite right.

Well, maybe that should be the 'affair' is in 'progression' after the 'start' in the bedroom.

My goodness, this is getting complicated.

Maybe I should have passed.

A little holy giggity. I suppose that's something to give an "amen" for 😆

Reminds me of that old joke where you put "In my pants" at the end of every fortune from a fortune cookie.

Just goes to show people aren't as church going as they were in the past. Probably workplace would be number one?

As I give this consideration, I begin to wonder whether the writer of that idea about a church being #1 was maybe referring to any church sponsored event. I am now beginning to remember that we have had church picnics. Church social gathering situations. I suspect that provides a slightly less "cumbersome" environment that might allow for a situation to arise that leads to later meetings away from the church.

Just a thought that came to mind. I confess I have not hit the link to read the basis for this thread.

Speaking from what I'd observed at my church, which I'm sure is common in other churches................after all, aren't these people the most likely ones to flock to Jesus Christ?

Many church goers are vulnerable.
Many have emotional and psychological issues.
Many are lonely. Many are alone.
Many had been abused. Suffered.
Many are dealing with pain.

The devil and temptation can enter the church.
In fact - I'd say logically-speaking, the church could be among Satan's favorite places to attack and exploit.

The point?

"In my mind" should be #1. Even Jimmy Carter succumbed.

Truthfully, the article is unsurprising. No one would say, "what? Really?" Others, of course, would read it for pointers...

Like fire, it requires three elements, fuel, oxygen and a spark - proximity, desire and opportunity.

The people you described are in all parts of society.

true. many churches promote 'Celebrate Recovery' which are small groups helping one another with 'hurts, habits, and hangups'. it is amazing what normal looking people deal with and the baggage of their past.

as i learn about people's past, many have all kinds of issues that brought tremendous hurt into their lives. in the end God is the answer; it does 'work if you work it, and you are worth it'.

what is holding you back today?

local Bible church open, the Mourner's Bench beckons you to cry out to God for help.

are you ready?

April 8 blessings to the end of time.

Yes, I know.
The world is full of sinners - as no one is perfect.
Why would the church not be one of the places where affairs happen, after all - it's a meeting place.

Let me put it this way - other than purpose, what's the difference between a church and any any public place as far as mingling with people is concerned?
Predators are everywhere, too.

I'm wondering as to your point why you singled out the church.
Is it supposed to be a poke at the church?

Anywhere people get together. Wow, isn't that amazing. How'd a drag show not make the list?

"Affairs"

"Affairs"

Church

God

Bible

Hell

Yes. I get that.

But....
Why single out affairs?
What about sex abuse on children by the clergy?
The cover-ups?

What about those who loves porn?
Who harbor sexual lusts in their hearts and in their minds?

What about those who cheat and steal?
Those who steal at their workplace?
It's tax time these days - how many cheat on their taxes?
Those who renege on paying their credit cards? Landlords?
Those who cheat the system?

What about liars?

I could go on and on.

Here's my point:

I hope you don't expect that Christians are no longer tempted to sin...........especially so when they are church-going?
