We do ... and we had to create a FEDERAL law to prevent Texas and a few other bloodthirsty states from executing menetally retarded people. If this law doesn't prove there is an issue with southern justice, nothing does.
I live in the State of North Carolina and am well aware of the problems here in the South but please try to refrain from making this some North V/S The South Issue.
I could actually understand his point of view if he simply didn't believe in the death penalty. Unfortunately he's painting the South with a broad brush calling it racist and further advocating for the prosecuter and judge to be eligible for life in prison if the wrong person is inadvertently charged. These claims are rooted in some alternate reality and I can't even fathom a single reason to justify these beliefs.
First it was Texas then it was the south. The stupidity of the argument you are making knows no bounds. So nothing bad ever happened in the North or out West according to your pathetic attempts at logic.
If they are that stupid? They deserve to be killed based on how stupid it is to confess to a crime they did not commit. Consider it a favor to mankind to get rid of that kind of stupid.
I was speaking about those on Death Row and thanks for understanding the error of your ways
While I have no problem with petty criminals getting an education behind bars? How much of that is wasted when they go on to be repeat offenders? That is a whole other topic but it still pisses me off that people behind bars can get a free education while their are plenty of poor children and out of work adults that are more deserving. That is just my thoughts on it and yes I do feel someone on the outside is much more deserving than someone who has commited a crime and in lockdown.
That's because in your reality those who steal half or all of peoples lives do not need to be punished for their crimes. I believe when prosecutors and judges drop that kind of ball they need to pay a serious price for it. That price will make prosecutors and judges less likely persue weak cases (which is done to increase their conviction ratings) and make certain when they go after somebody the evidence damn well supports it.
You can defend the guilty all you want. What you're doing is protecting your own class. Nothing more.
I'm not defending my own class in anyway. I'm not even close to the class of Lawyers and doctors. My dad is in the construction buisiness (electrical) which is not doing very well thanks to the combined idiocy of my state government and the federal government (notice I didn't just specify the OA). I work at a restaurant and a garden to help put myself through college. My mom recently picked up a job at the post office after taking years off from working with social services.
If it can be proven that prosecutor or judge is just trying to improve their conviction rate rather than doing what's fair (as defined by the justice system) then by all means put them in prison. Otherwise, it's a bad idea.

Also, why don't you refrain from throwing out the insult "republicanazis". Republican are NOT Nazis. Some Nazi people may claim to be republican (hell some may claim to be democrat) but they are an insult to the right (or the left). The republican party does not condone Nazism. Why do you feel the need to specify republican when the two have nothing to do with each other. Just call these people racists, that's what they are. Their party affiliation means jack ****.
Demos? That might be a good name for them. My dad would never accept federal funds. He's dead set against it. If you want the truth the dems just failed to keep the bush tax cuts. His taxes are now going up another 3%. Obama has actually increased tax on the lower and middle class. Don't ask me what bill, the proof is in the pudding. My families taxes have gone up with him. I know a single mother who works 60 hours a week to make 30k a year. Her taxes went up too. She actually owed money to the feds this year instead of receiving a tax return. The Dems and the Republicans in office suck. They're in office for themselves. You're a downright fool if you believe the liberals in office are any different. It seems to me you would be better off voting the other way. The demos are currently trying to get the repubs to vote on a bill that would allow business like that owned by your parents to get access to funds. Republicans refuse to support it. Why? Because they are more concerned with the national debt than they are with the survival of the American people. Frankly, if it isn't going to BIG business, republicans are agains it.
With the opinions that you have, it's a little scary that you're a paralegal. As a Paralegal, I have seen examples of this. It's VERY common and out of control. Prosecutors are rarely in a courtroom to get justice for the victims of crime. What I suggested would make a VERY effective deterrant that will prevent judicial and prosecutorial corruption of justice for the sake of ratings. You are free to think it's a bad idea; I have seen this effect in person and as a juror, and I am telling you, it's NOT a bad idea. It will effectively eliminate the corruptive influence of the conviction rating.
Here is where I decide that you're a down right fool. I'm done debating with you. Republicans do support big business. They also support small business. Tax cuts to businesses allows for expansion of jobs. That's the republican stance. To compare republicans to Nazis is a despicable insult to both the right and those who were ever hurt or killed by the Nazis. Your reference is invalid because you are an invalid. Have a nice life, and I'll hope that some day you see the light. The republican party advocates, supports, and actively participates in stealing from the poor to give to the rich. Likewise, republicans support big business and actions therefore that can only be considered nazi-like. This fact is where I draw my reference from. My reference will be invalid the day big business and the GOP are separated by the fear of spending life in Supermax Florence if the opposite happens in any way, shape, or form.

The modern democratic party is nothing more than a bunch of ill-informed socialists who are mad for power. I also think, the American people enjoy more freedom under a republican administration, as the democrats love the idea of using the police and military against the citizenry. The republicans in power might be a bad deal if you are eurotrash or a rag-head, but I'm comfortable with that. I don't like most of them anyways.
I am sorry we do not agree. I do not like to see people prosecuted simply to up a conviction rating. This is all to common. I consider this type of thing a sham and I compare it to the kangaroot courts of nazi Germany. My comparisson is valid. You have a nice life as well.

WRONG. That attitude sends innocent people to the grave. It's shameful, dispicable, and completely unforgivable.
I never claimed the north was innocent....
but at least we do not execute mentally retarded prisoners... nor do we add minors to a seperate sex offenders registry (something done by the Nazi scum who run Florida).
ALso ... mentioning the Colombine masacre, something unrealted to the topic, was truly and absolutely tasteless, and you should be ashamed of yourself. It was NOT state sactioned. What I was complaing of WAS. There is a fine line between that conversation and the tasteless reference you made to Colombine. Shame on you sir. Tasteless and out line to the end. You're a true republican.
The KKK started in the south, Jim Crow was a governor of a southern state, and the freedom marchers were victimized in the south.
For the record, since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976, no state has executed more inmates than Texas.
Article here: Texas reporter's seen unrivaled number of U.S. executions - CNN.com.
While no state is innocent, Texas and some other southern states went out of their way to be and stay corrupt. This phenominon started when SOUTHERN PLANTATION OWNERS kidnapped people from Africa and used them for slave labor.
Here's a look at justice in the south:
Freedom Riders were Civil Rights activists that rode interstate buses into the segregated southern United States to test the United States Supreme Court decision Boynton v. Virginia (of 1960).[1] The first Freedom Ride left Washington, D.C., on May 4, 1961, and was scheduled to arrive in New Orleans on May 17.[2]
The Freedom Riders set out to challenge this status quo by riding various forms of public transportation in the South to challenge local laws or customs that enforced segregation. The Freedom Rides, and the violent reactions they provoked, bolstered the credibility of the American Civil Rights Movement and called national attention to the violent disregard for the law that was used to enforce segregation in the southern United States. Riders were arrested for trespassing, unlawful assembly, and violating state and local Jim Crow laws, along with other alleged offenses...

Mississippi Burning:
The Mississippi civil rights workers murders involved the 1964 lynching of three political activists during the American Civil Rights Movement.
The murders of James Chaney, a 21-year-old black man from Meridian, Mississippi; Andrew Goodman, a 20-year-old white Jewish anthropology student from New York; and Michael Schwerner, a 24-year-old white Jewish CORE organizer and former social worker also from New York, symbolized the risks of participating in the Civil Rights Movement in the South during what became known as "Freedom Summer", dedicated to voter registration.
The lynching of the three young men occurred shortly after midnight on June 21, 1964, when they went to investigate the burning of a church that supported civil rights activity. James Chaney was a local Freedom Movement activist in Meridian, Michael Schwerner was a CORE organizer from New York, and Andrew Goodman, also from New York, was a Freedom Summer volunteer. The three men had just finished week-long training on the campus of Western College for Women (now part of Miami University), in Oxford, Ohio, regarding strategies on how to register blacks to vote...
THESE OCCURRED WITH THE BLESSING AND SUPPORT OF CORRUPT SOUTHERN LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL.
In then end, I admited my state and most others were less than innocent. You didn't have the courage to do the same.
Get off your high horse and get back down to actual facts. ALL States and regions of America have their fair share of violence and for you to so willingly display your utter incompetence in this area is just another indictation that you really need to read more and talk less.
All you did was spread republicanazi propaganda and take a completely tasteless shot at me by reference the Colombine incident.
You call my logic laughable, yet you didn't have the courage to own up. That is a serious character flaw on your part.
You just ducked it altogether slamming one region. Quite typical of you but not a new trick
No, the north just releases pedophiles after raping children:
A Maryland judge shaved 14 years off a child molester's prison sentence Friday, a ruling that followed the same judge cutting almost 16 years off another molester's sentence in 2008.
In shortening the latest sentence, Circuit Court Judge Eric M. Johnson called Jason Lay a different person than he was five years ago, when he was convicted of making a 4-year-old girl perform sexual acts inside a townhouse in Germantown and sentenced to 30 years.
Case highlights challenges of keeping child molesters safe in prison
Once again the state of Vermont has let a vicious child molester off lightly, and once again a child's life has become a political cover up.
Bennington County, Vt., is a pretty, touristy area that is supposed to be relatively crime free. But 37-year-old Andrew James is a known troublemaker, a man convicted of a violent felony: attacking his wife with a screwdriver in front of his own small children. For that, James served 30 days in jail.
But then James upped the criminal ante and molested a 4-year-old boy. After cutting a deal with prosecutor Andrew Costello, James pleaded guilty, and Judge David Howard sentenced him to probation and mandatory "treatment," which means this monster is walking around free right now.

Do you want to continue this embarrassment focusing only on one region of the US or have you learned your lesson yet?
Two of your points had NOTHING to do with state sanctioned policy so once again you are caught red handed in another fabrication about your own words. You really should read your own posts more often and lesson your embarrassment.
AND PROUD OF IT. We don't coddle murderers and rapists. You might like that but we don't.
I see you cowardly ducked all the Indian massacres that occurred in the north as I quoted. What, do those people don't count to you?
Here's a look at justice in the north.
On Sunday, July 12, the names of the draftees drawn the day before by the Provost Marshall were published in newspapers. Within hours, groups of irate citizens, many of them Irish immigrants, banded together across the city. Eventually numbering some 50,000 people, the mob terrorized neighborhoods on the East Side of New York for three days looting scores of stores. Blacks were the targets of most attacks on citizens; several lynchings and beatings occurred. In addition, a black church and orphanage were burned to the ground.
All in all, the mob caused more than $1.5 million of damage. The number killed or wounded during the riot is unknown, but estimates range from two dozen to nearly 100. Eventually, Lincoln deployed combat troops from the Federal Army of the Potomac to restore order; they remained encamped around the city for several weeks. In the end, the draft raised only about 150,000 troops throughout the North, about three-quarters of them substitutes, amounting to just one-fifth of the total Union force.
The New York Draft Riots
Your bigotry against the south and ignorance of northern atrocities are shameful. You should be embarrassed at your severe lack of knowledge of history.
Once again we show that racism is not something the south enjoys alone blowing away your ignorant focus on only southerners.
Between 1820 and 1850, Northern blacks also became the frequent targets of mob violence. Whites looted, tore down, and burned black homes, churches, schools, and meeting halls. They stoned, beat, and sometimes murdered blacks. Philadelphia was the site of the worst and most frequent mob violence. City officials there generally refused to protect African Americans from white mobs and blamed blacks for inciting the violence with their "uppity" behavior. (Public Broadcasting Service Resource Bank. Race-based legislation in the North 1807 – 1850)
Once again proving racism history exists in the south AND the north
Chronology On The History Of Slavery And Racism 1830 To The End
The United States Supreme Court's decision in Boynton v. Virginia granted interstate travelers the legal right to disregard local segregation ordinances regarding interstate transportation facilities. But the Freedom Riders' rights were not enforced, and their actions were considered criminal acts throughout most of the South. For example, upon the Riders' arrival in Mississippi, their journey ended with imprisonment for exercising their legal rights in interstate travel. Similar arrests took place in other Southern cities.

The president-elect's eyes twinkled and he said he was reminded of a story. According to eyewitness Henry Villard, President-elect Abraham Lincoln "told the story of the Kentucky Justice of the Peace whose first case was a criminal prosecution for the abuse of slaves. Unable to find any precedent, he exclaimed angrily: `I will be damned if I don't feel almost sorry for being elected when the niggers is the first thing I have to attend to.'"
