That's patently insane and blatantly unmerited, particularly as the whole of Tesla is barely worth more than 1 trillion, and that's at an extremely and absurdly inflated valuation with a PE of nearly 200 and declining earnings and sales, lol.

Aside from clearly unparalleled greed, I suspect he's pushing for it so he can have the title of the world's first trillionaire.

Yeah, on the back of pure speculation and cult-like hopium regarding its robotics and autotaxis, which are almost certain to be flops; particularly the latter where Tesla is far behind (as in probably close to a decade behind) existing industry mainstays such as Waymo.

Westerners care as much if not more about aesthetics which is why China isn’t dominating the world in EV despite having functional and cheap cars. It works, but they’re uncomfortable and comedically tiny and people in the West don’t want to buy something that looks like it should be circling a ring with 50 clowns packed inside.
