Trump lied to every American about the severity of COVID because he didn't want Americans to be informed about making decisions as to their own health. Trump is a wamnabe totalitarian creep.
 
Article makes it sound like McAuliffe walked into an interview that was going to ask critical questions, he responded for ten or so minutes, then left. Curious he said at the end of the interview that he gave them "extra time" if FOX is contending that he cut the interview short.
 
Parents making decisions about their children's education? Only if they are home schooled.

There is approved curriculum determined to be appropriate for the course. You think parents know better? You want teachers to try and teach 37 different curriculums per class?

In what universe would giving parents control over their students education (outside homeschooling) improve education?
 
The elected official represent their constituents....The People! They aren't the arbiters of all that's good and right. This isn't a dictatorship.
 
No, the one curriculum I want is perfectly acceptable. No need for 36 others.

Congress has zero to do with school curriculum, state legislatures have almost zero to do with school curriculum. Your point?

The entire reason for public education is so that children are smarter than their parents. The future will not stand still because you want it to.
 
99% of parents are NOT educators nor trained to educate. That's the point he was trying to make. If you listen to some of the parents in Florida and other GOP states, they're pushing for their kids to be unsafe in the classrooms, or pushing not to teach certain history because of how bad it will make their white ancestors look.

I'm with McAuliffe. Parents should stick to their jobs and let the professionals teach the kids. Barging in on a school board meeting with aggression and violence is no way to effect a decent education.
 
Reading the linked article I did get the sense the reporter was trying for a "gotcha" moment.
 
Mr Mcauliffe doesn't have to answer questions. He opposed Trump and supported Biden. That's all anybody needs to know and anyone asking about anything else is likely a domestic terrorist hellbent on destroying democracy as we have all come to know and love it.
