"Two teenage girls from Germany were detained, arrested, and deported at an airport in Hawaii after immigration officials said it was suspicious they had not booked a hotel room.

Backpackers Charlotte Pohl, 19, and Maria Lepere, 18, arrived in Honolulu from Auckland while undergoing a round-the-world trip. The duo planned to spend five weeks in Hawaii before moving onto California and Costa Rica for the next legs of their journey.

But despite having ESTA travel authorization, immigration officials accused them of attempting to enter the U.S. to work illegally, and they were placed in handcuffs and taken to a nearby detention center they later learned was a deportation facility.

Upon arrival, they were subjected to full-body scans, strip searches and forced to wear green prison jumpsuits, German outlet Ostee Zeitung reports. They were then placed in a holding facility with serious criminals, including an alleged murderer who had been locked up for 18 years, and were forced to spend the night in a freezing cold double cell.

...After a sleepless night in the freezing cell, the girls were woken early and escorted back to the airport in handcuffs. Upon arrival, they were forced to board a Hawaiian Airlines flight to Tokyo and were told they would receive their passports back once they arrived in Japan.

Included in their travel documents were interrogation transcripts signed by the girls, which “contained sentences we didn’t actually say,” said Charlotte after the ordeal. “They twisted it to make it seem as if we admitted that we wanted to work illegally in the US.”

Thank you Dear Leader for keeping Americans safe from these hardened terrorists. Pretty sure they were part of MS-13, not that the commie press would ever report it. 'MURICA FOR MAGAS!
This stuff keeps happening at a frequency so as to belie them being able to claim they're all just misunderstandings. Guilty, treated without due process, renditioned to any country as fast as they can be put on a plane.
The new reality of Trump's Murika. Putin will be so proud of his fledgling Manchurian implant.

I am speechless.

The Daily Beast is not a valid source.

THAT story can be found on numerous sources, so you can give your bleating a rest.
Hardly a leftwing site:
They were then given green prison uniforms and placed in a holding cell with long-term detainees, some of whom were reportedly accused of serious crimes.
They were tourists for crying out loud, and the ONLY rebuttal you could make was..............
The Daily Beast is not a valid source.
Seriously?

Seems like good policy to make genuine tourists feel too threatened to want to enter the US. Especially with the World Cup being hosted in the US next year.
We may find that people simply don't attend any matches held in the US.

Isn't it being jointly hosted by US, Canada and Mexico with matches spread across the 3 nations?

And...this is why tourism is screwed.

Who will want to come here when faced with the reality that they can wind up in handcuffs and detained? For simply vacationing?

Way to go MAGAs.
Why do you think it's a "MAGA" thing?

Given how much Hawaii relies on tourism to fuel its economy? Yeah, suppressing foreign travel is potentially disastrous.

Estimated 40% of annual tourist travel to Hawaii originates from outside the US. Japan, Canada, Australia, and Korea are the leading nations according to the source provided.

Hotels, restaurants, charter boats, tour guides, car rental companies, golf courses, attractions...all these and more businesses getting screwed by His Majesty's policies.

What is really ridiculous about this is that we are talking about a couple of harmless young female back packers, who already have a history showing that they are genuinely backpacking around the world. Even if the accusations that they might pick up a few $'s working for a week or two had any basis in reality, the damage done to US tourism by these deportations is way worse right now than any harm they might have caused by doing a few days of work. In reality, they have just come from New Zealand, where they are allowed to work as young German backpackers if they want to, at the end of peak fruit picking etc season, so if anything they probably had pockets full of $'s to spend on their short holiday in Hawaii. Every year here, 1000's of young tourists become an important part of meeting the labour demands during peak harvest season. NZ gets some extra labour that it needs. The young people get to top up their bank accounts and stay in NZ longer, spending more here. What an awful system huh!!!

I don't know what instructions the Trump admin has given to the border control agents, but this sort of stuff is just plain dumb.

Trump is wrecking America.

What ever will happen when the working stiffs of Hawaii lose their jobs and are unable to pay their mortgages?

What will become of their land and homes?

What does deporting random foreigners have to do with Trump? Are you serious?
Yes, what does the deportation of these two women have to do with Trump? Can you point me at least to a policy change?

Trump is wrecking America.

He's doing the best job wrecking America any one has ever seen. It's a great job, a beautiful job.

People keep saying, "No one has ever seen a President destroy his own country so quickly. Probably the fastest in the world, maybe even in all of history. It's amazing"
