Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas sharply criticized Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr.

"He says, 'We can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way' ... that's right out of Goodfellas," Cruz said of Carr.

Cruz's comments put him at odds with President Donald Trump, who applauded Kimmel's suspension and later called Carr "outstanding."

How do our tireless MAGA defenders feel about being exposed as even less principled than Ted fricking Cruz?

Did he mean it as a criticism, or as praise?

Cracks in the MAGA party are widening.

I heard it. He was genuinely upset with the direction of the WH and the FCC. He did make some good points. As much as I don't like Cruz, he was 100% correct on this one.

Surprising, since I remember him being one of the supporters in 2020 suggesting ways to steal the election from Biden. Good for him, though.

I don't like it either, it wasn't appropriate for his position.

"tireless MAGA defenders" --- that is rich, coming from one of the most liberal political forums on the internet.

What is happening!? 😱 I've had to like 2 of Bucky's posts lately, I have to say Cruz is right here, even though I can't stand him. The world is going crazy right now.

I never thought I would be praising Cruz for his spine and guts, but these days for a GOP Senator, this is like standing in front of firing squad and not flinching. I honor and respect his sacrifice for his country. Its one hell of a surprise!!

Come on was fired because he was lying and supporting terrorism.

Ted Cruz needs to get a grip.

Come on was fired because he was lying and supporting terrorism.

Why? Did he ask to have the Vice President hanged or something?

Ted Cruz needs to get a grip.

A MAGA speaks up with a criticism against someone the pack likes (!!gasp!!): OMG GET A GRIP MAN!!!

LOL...the party of personal freedom and 1A.

I think that this being too much for even Ted Cruz shows just how over the top corrupt this whole thing has been. Just a few years ago no Republican would have supported it. Of course it's not really the Republican party anymore. Not even close to it.

I agree with the first sentence but not the second. Kimmel was apparently fired because he was asked to apologize, refused, and said he was going to say things even worse. So they suspended him. And if thats how it went down then the TDS infected, douche bag Kimmel got what he deserved.

And Cruz is also correct. Trump should be weakening the power and authority of these alphabet agencies, not using them to control what is said.

Why do you people believe a word Ted Cruz says? We know who Ted Cruz is. Today he's against Trump. Tomorrow, or next week, he'll meet with Trump and sing a different lie.

Screw Ted Cruz.

I agree with the first sentence but not the second.
Fair enough.
Kimmel was apparently fired because he was asked to apologize, refused, and said he was going to say things even worse.
I don't think he was asked to apologize I don't think the FCC would have gotten involved if he didn't apologize.

He told a lie he knew it was a lie he said it anyway and one asked to retract the LIE he refused.
So they suspended him.
That's what they did.
And if thats how it went down then the TDS infected, douche bag Kimmel got what he deserved.
The only one that did this to Jimmy Kimmel was himself.
And Cruz is also correct. Trump should be weakening the power and authority of these alphabet agencies, not using them to control what is said.
Well if Ted Cruz said we should return the FCC to an advisory status and do away with the concept of broadcast licenses I would agree with him.

But making a special consideration for Jimmy Kimmel to say whatever he wants no matter how true it is on public broadcasting is a rule for the but not for me.

I would be okay with Jimmy Kimmel having four shows if it meant there was no more control by the SCC and they were just advisory and law making was up to lawmakers.

This wasn’t just about one comment—it was about refusing to bend to political pressure. Kimmel saw the demand for an apology as a test of artistic and civic integrity, and chose principle over career security. His refusal to play the game exposed the machinery behind the censorship: FCC threats, affiliate pressure, and corporate cowardice. Of course it is impossible for MAGAs to recognize integrity since its been years since anyone in their party displayed it.

Kimmel has a contract with them. He didn't break it. They did. He may soon own Disney. That would probably make Mickey smile for the first time in a long time. At least ever since Bob Igor acted tough with DeSantis for awhile but in the end bent the knee and kissed DeSantis' ring. Igor was right in the beginning but in the end he showed he had no integrity. Now he expects everyone to join him in capitulation.
Not everyone has the courage of Olaf.

When you're a Trumpist & Cruz is calling you out, you're obviously making very bad decisions.
