Taxes or Debt?
Most people think they are going to Heaven, but I tell you, Heaven is a cow's scrotum.
Unlike a human scrotum that eats the cow.
But if you're in for better things, isn't it in your interests to pay higher taxes rather than run up debt?
Even spending the tax hike is better for the economy, and paying the debt than what we were trying to do before covid reminded us about the benefit of fiscal responsibility.

It's a moot point.
Congress doesn't give a rat's ass about debt and taxes is nothing more than a political football to be used by the team with possession.
It is usually best to work within a balanced budget, seldom spending more than you can take in to cover it with.
However, sometimes you need a little extra to develop with, expecting enough of a return to cover the debt and eventually make a profit.
But government should be a zero sum process, spend what it takes in, or increase/decrease taxes as necessary to meet costs.
The problem is that with our Federal Reserve system, the government can simply "borrow from itself." Then print more money to represent the amount borrowed.
This causes inflation, and leads to all sorts of problems.
So, I choose "balance taxes with debt" and try to keep spending balanced with reductions in spending.

I've just told you the reason they don't give a rats ass, it's because they're deceived and are going to end up as slaughtered cattle for millions of births, once the Hare Krishnas take over and see this debt we've run up.
I can't get past this part
???
Slaughtered cattle? Millions of births?? Hare Krishnas??? (LOL!! Are they even a thing anymore?)
Nah...all that nonsense has nothing to do with it. It's politics. Nothing more.
Screw tax hikes. They wouldn't be used to "pay down debt". They would be spent, like they always are. The federal government spends every penny, including SS, and then borrows some more. Whatever you send them will be spent. THAT's how they get re-elected.

That's the trouble with you lefties. You think that is the only choice - taxes or debt. How about spending less money?
Ok then.
How about getting rid of half the nukes?
You'd still be left with enough to destroy the world and can save a boatload of money.

Taxes and Debt are the two things that bind democrats and republicans together as a UniParty.
They may disagree on HOW the taxes should be redistributed, but both Parties agree on redistribution of wealth.
Debt too. Both parties borrow and spend like crazy. Borrow as much as you like . . . your grandchildren will get stuck paying the interest. Naturally, they'll curse you for it.
Eh - screw 'em.
Just sayin - the left only knows two options and they never met a dollar where they didn't want to spend two. How about not spending 93 trillion dollars fighting a losing battle against mother nature?
Please name one successful country that has worked with a super limited government and without borrowing money at some point?
Where are you getting this $93T figure from?
