The House Ethics Committee ended its two-year investigation into Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., over allegations that he had ties to a suspected Chinese intelligence operative.

In a letter to Swalwell dated Monday, the committee said it will take no further action in the probe that began in April 2021 into “allegations raised in the complaint that you may have violated House Rules, laws, or other standards of conduct in connection with your interactions with Ms. Christine Fang,” the suspected Chinese spy.

So another GOP nothingberder.

So another GOP nothingberder.

It wasn't enough for the FBI to say Rep. Swalwell did nothing wrong.
"The FBI alerted Swalwell to suspicions that a young Chinese national named Christine Fang was connected to Chinese intelligence. Swalwell ceased communication with her, and has been accused of no wrongdoing. U.S. intelligence officers told Axios they do not believe Fang obtained or passed on classified information."

It wasn't enough to have the Senate say the Russians were involved in defendant Trump's campaign.
"The Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday released the final report on its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, finding numerous contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow posed a "grave" counterintelligence threat. "We found irrefutable evidence of Russian meddling," Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., acting chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said in a statement, directly refuting President Donald Trump's repeated assertions that Russian interference was a "hoax" perpetrated by Democrats."

Nothing is ever enough when GQP power is at stake.
