I'm guessing the target audience is black/latinos of either gender, plus white WOMEN. Between all of them, it's a healthy majority. I also wouldn't be surprised if some white guys respond to the ads too: telling them they're failures in life because of their junk and the color of their skin, actually pleases them. "That explains it! I'm being discriminated against, it's not that I'm fat and stupid."

Its Friday evening on the 17th of February. I have a challenge for tomorrow for you. As you are watching TV tomorrow (Saturday) take note on how many commercials feature the dumb white guy. You know what I mean right? The dumb white guy who cannot do anything right, who gets hurt doing stupid things, who people all laugh at. Keep a running count on Saturday and report back........If you can count.

Its verboten.Or could it be that you're just more sensitive to mockery and negative stereotyping when it's YOUR type of people being mocked?
For instance, adds for women's personal hygiene products just make you go "ick" so you don't notice there's a smug white woman using the product and a dumb white woman getting blood on her clothes. The negative example is often used to contrast with the "smart" consumer who is using the product.
I do think dumb men examples are used to sell to women, more than dumb woman examples are used to sell to men. But I think race is still mostly off-limits. If it wasn't, surely you'd be complaining about "dumb white people" in ads?

To the best of my knowledge, commercials here in the States never feature any "dumb" guys of that background.I'm sure that there must be plemty of commercials in the USA featuring 'dumb black guys and you don't hear them complaining.
