A lot of meat like poultry, are apparently imported from the USA.
Hopefully, Canadian producers will make it easy for us to know which ones are from them.

While some products leave no doubt as to them being made in Canada, many products however, leave questions.
To help us navigate what products are made in Canada.

For cat food - practically all brand names are from the USA!

I did a search on what particular products are from Canada, and I found this site.

Determining which products and brands are Made in Canada can be challenging. That’s why, at Made in CA, we have put together a shopping list that will enable Canadians to source grocery items and brands produced and
manufactured right here in Canada.

To keep the list concise and easy to navigate, we group all sub-brands under their parent brand in the product sections. Additionally, this guide is divided into two sections: Canadian-owned and made and Canadian-made but foreign-owned for better clarity and organization.

Please keep in mind that this information is sourced from users and may not be 100% accurate. We do our best to verify each business, but there may be occasional discrepancies. Please check the labels before purchasing.

If you find a Canadian-made product in your local grocery store that isn’t listed here, we encourage you to submit it for consideration to this list here. Please visit this link for corrections.

Alas, Trudeau is clueless.
Why hasn't he put a stop to imports from the States and cut off oil, gas, potash, and lumber exports?
He could sign a free trade agreement with China, and believe me, China would be game.
He could sign a free trade agreement with Mexico.
Instead he sits on his hands and only threatens "counter measures."

Canadian made cat food...

Canadian made dog food....

We could smuggle some awesome cheeses from Wisconsin across Lake Superior in exchange for affordable lifesaving pharmaceuticals. Mums the word…

Thanks.

I looked up some Canadian-made cat food. They're usually 'organic" kind - which I don't adhere to.
No such thing as "organic" except the price! 😁

My elderly cats are picky, and they're used to BLUE, IAM's and Purina wetfood (salmon pate, chef dinner and ocean white).
Stocking up on those, so to have a head start, price-wise.
I won't change now. They've done well, health-wise with those.

I also bumped into a woman who's hoarding up a particular flavor. She's fostering for 5 cats and they're also picky!

Quote of the day from vice president vance.

"bunch of childless cat ladies with miserable lives".

Either we BAN USA products, which I don't think Canada would want to do.............................. or, pay the high price.
Consumers, still, got the choice.

The lady at the grocery store endlessly kept telling me, "there are no other choice! I can't change the cats' feeding habit."
She was trying to justify to me, why she's buying American-made products.
I told her, "you don't have to feel guilty about it."

Just looked at last week's flyer from Freshco. There are products that are marked by Canadian flags.
The problem is: out of all products in the flyer - I only saw THREE!

Mind you - we have many products also from other nations which we can support.

Btw.....

I didn't know KRAFT, is CANADIAN.
The cheese got a Canadian flag beside it.

What Kraft Products Are Made In Canada?

We are proud to make the food that Canadians love. Our world-class manufacturing facility in Mont Royal, Quebec produces some of Canada’s most iconic brands, including Kraft Peanut Butter,
Renée’s Dressing, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, KD Mac & Cheese and as of Summer 2021, Heinz Ketchup!

In 2021, 33 of The Kraft Heinz Company’s manufacturing facilities were located in the United States. One facility is located in neighboring country, Canada.

Kraft Heinz is an American food company, based in Chicago, and is responsible for various food brands, including Heinz, Kool-Aid, Lunchables, and Philadelphia.

Made In Canada Directory includes thousands of products that are manufactured here at home. These Canadian owned & operated businesses take pride in their commitment to producing here and building, producing or manufacturing their items here at home. Finding Canadian made products has not always been an easy task so lucky for us, there are now many resources available. We can find almost anything we need if we just search for it. An internet search will show you exactly how easy it is to shop local.

Our economy is recovering from the most unprecedented times that many of us hopefully will never experience again. Our job now as Canadians, is to support these made in Canada businesses by buying products made in Canada when we can. That’s where we come in. This is the largest directory of made in Canada products that focuses exclusively on products made locally.

The Dairy Farmers of Canada says to watch for the "Blue Cow" logo when purchasing milk products.
They explain the logo represents products made with 100 per cent Canadian milk and milk ingredients.

<sigh of relief>

Villagio whole wheat bread has been the bread friendliest to me. I'm glad it's Canada-made

Note: I checked out GAY LEA butter I got. The cow logo isn't blue.
It's black and white.

I've been checking some products I regularly use that I had taken for granted. I love Brandt liverwurst and glad to know it's Canadian.
