ABC has crossed the line when it comes to free speech. They took down Jimmy Kimmel Live because he made a remark about the media downplaying the fact that the killer of Charlie Kirk was one of them. As in MAGA. There is no proof of that. But in the context of comedy, how much proof is necessary? What is known is that Tyler Robinson came from a right wing conservative background. That's close enough. Tyler Robinson was gay. What his big beef was in Kirk's anti gay views. Does that make him a "leftie?" Not necessarily. All in all, I think what ABC did was wrong. Maybe they should have brought it up with Kimmel and gave him the chance to apologize for his remark. If it was indeed false. Whatever the case, I'll not watch anything on ABC until his show is back on the air. And neither should you.

The media has a very wide range of latitude of what they are allowed to say. As they should. What tRump's government is doing is straight-up statism.

I'm sure family feud at 11:30 or Charlie Kirk tributes will be a big hit. ****ing weak morons.

Had they wanted to keep him, ABC would have given him an opportunity to apologize for claiming that the "maga gang" was responsible for the shooting and doing everything they could to blame it on someone else.

Seems they thought this was a good opportunity to cut him loose.

I don't watch network TV, but I do watch local news. The ABC affiliate is my usual choice.

Out of curiosity, I compared the ABC affiliate with the Fox affiliate.

Looks in line with what I'd expect from Fox. The fatal crash made both front pages, but after leading with it, Fox 11 moves to crime, Kimmel, Antifa, deportations and again, Kimmel.

News 8 focuses on local news.

I like the station. Other than news, I don't touch ABC, so we're good.

No, it seems like the Trump administration threatened their broadcast licenses and their merger.

And then ABC caved.

And then conservatives like yourself performed the most insane mental gymnastics I've ever seen in my life to support the Trump's administration clear violation of the First Amendment.

Great! Yes, all lefties should quit watching ABC. Most on the right don't watch it so let the network die.

ABC is on the verge of a total boycott collapse of revenue due to lack of the ability to sell commercials as companies do not want to invest money into shows that cannot bring the viewership to make it worth it.

Had they wanted to keep "Kimmel Live!" they would have.

If it were a big loss, they'd be replacing him with another late-night host, but the market for that stuff is dying.

LOL, MAWAs' will come up with any excuse to excuse Trump and his sycophants...

"Had they wanted to keep him".....kowtowing to trump seems to have prevailed.

Sad.

This is circular reasoning,

The reason why they did not want to keep Kimmel's show was because the government threatened them!!!!

Just, please. Just stop.

Find the courage to criticize this administration. please. Please. What they are doing is so clearly wrong. What they are doing is in such clear violation of our traditional values and principles. Please,

I don't watch ABC now, so it's no problem not watching them because you are butthurt.

I criticize it plenty. But there's no evidence here that they desperately wanted to keep Jimmy Kimmel around but had their hands tied because the government was going to shut them down.

Facts not in evidence.

In the hours leading up to the decision to pull Kimmel, two sources familiar with the matter say, senior executives at ABC, its owner Disney, and affiliates convened emergency meetings to figure out how to minimize the damage. Multiple execs felt that Kimmel had not actually said anything over the line, the two sources say, but the threat of Trump administration retaliation loomed.

“They were pissing themselves all day,” one ABC insider tells Rolling Stone.

Rollingstone.

Nope. The FCC threatened their merger and their broadcast licenses.

They gave him the opportunity. He refused.

Late night host Jimmy Kimmel said he was unwilling to apologize for his remarks that blamed MAGA supporters for killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk — and said he was going to double down on attacking President Trump’s backers before he was yanked from the air, according to new reports.

Rollingstone.

Yeah, that's right.

They are fine a organization.

The Rolling Stone is a reputable news organization whether you like it or not.

The fact is the FCC and the Trump administration are taking big giant shit on the Constitution and you support it because you hate Democrats more than you love the Constitution.

Rollingstone.
Yep. Rolling Stone.

Overall, we rate Rolling Stone Left Biased based on strongly left-leaning editorial positions and High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing of information and a reasonable fact check record.

Factual Reporting: HIGH

Credibility Rating: HIGH

Well, there you go.

I can certainly see why ABC wouldn't go to bat for Jimmy Kimmel.
