I am not sure that it is going to work, however. It does not help that the moment his views are examined, Charlie Kirk was a repulsive puss-ball and not a beloved figure with near-universal appeal like Fred Rogers.

Not going to lie. I'm extremely annoyed it's popping up everywhere in my feed when I haven't clicked any single of them.

My in laws, who never heard of him before, keeps trying to engage me to talk about him also. I don't understand how this captivated a nation.

This got more press then all the school shooting this year combined. It's weird as shit and I'm also tired of seeing it everywhere.

I mean, their choice is one between "support the right wing" and "pay more taxes", so of course they went with the former option, even if it'll burn down their society around them.

Or, a far-right advocate supporting hate and discrimination and harm wasn't extreme enough, and the biggest terror faction in the US by far, the far right, found him not extreme enough and executed him, and are grooming many more people to be violent. That might be it, and might be worth some attention. Remember the state legislators shot in June? We can expect more.
 
Sadly I think you are wrong about his appeal. He was absolutely universally loved within right wingers circles outside of Groyper nazis.

Local gun victims were not high profile figures.

Local gun victims cannot be made into national martyrs.

Local gun victims cannot be used to demonize, politicize, and further agendas to the magnitude of Charlie Kirk.

This is just the way things are in America. But stepping away from it all when it becomes too much is never a bad thing. I may do it myself soon.

I agree. This snake is taking up way too much oxygen. One doesn't become a saint because he was killed. I posted in another thread that he has become way more famous in death than in life, and that's a shame. Someone will pick up where he left off.

He was buddies with JD Vance and Don Jr. That tells me everything I need to know about him if he never uttered a word.
 
I never heard of Charlie Cook before he was shot and killed. Far as I’m concerned, he was a no body. Certainly not someone who deserves 12 of 20 post, threads with only 8 dealing with other subjects. There wasn’t this many threads started on the assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania. Has everyone on DP gone Cook crazy? Who was this guy? He must have been the most important guy in the world that no one knew who he was.
