Once it is won, yes -- after all, continuing past that point would be silly. :mrgreen:How many of you think that we should stop the war?
Well what do you guys propose we do? Just tell Iraq we are sorry and just pull our troops out? Honestly that doesnt seem like the smartest thing to do at this point. I would belive bomb the hell outa them.
Bomb the hell out of who? The Iraqis? No one that has any sense of military education and realistic logic wants us to "tell Iraq we are sorry and just pull our troops out".
The REAL debate is on HOW the war can be finished. HOW can Iraq become a stabilized and terror free nation? IMO, Iraq cannot be a mirror of American diplomacy and it cannot have a Shiite or Sunni leader. I personally think Biden's plan for Iraq is the best option out there now. The gist of his plan is to separate Iraq into three states (one for each active segment), and have a federal government with control over the countries assets and borders but with limited control over the individual states.
The intermingling of Sunni's and Shiites will not work. The fighting will never stop unless a ruthless dictator is in place to provoke fear, such as Saddam did.
A question: If Iraq were divided up into three sections, with each religious group being in control of a section, would that stop the violence? Or would it just reinforce the walls currently in place between the factions?
wow, how very unliberal-like of you.No, we shouldn't just stop the war in Iraq at this point. We need to do the best we can at getting them on the right track and then get out.
