Oh, for crying out loud. :doh I'm guessing these people have never seen a Don Rickles routine. Steve Harvey's a comedian, idiots. Comics have been making race the butt of jokes for centuries. Most comedy is about mockery in some form. More evidence of the wrath wrought by identity politics and the "victim" society.

Are you sure? I don't mind him getting some backlash because those jokes were really lame.

People should be complaining about how unfunny Steve Harvey is, not who the butt of his jokes are.

There was a time when such humor was common - yeah, common in many respects. But then, most of us were immigrants or so close to immigrants we didn't care, and it was the knowledge that we all had somewhat different traits that truly were humorous that was fun. Beneath all of it was respect for what each brought to the table. That's all gone now. There is no respect, nobody can laugh at themselves, and everybody's offended. Sucks.

Let's say someone wanted to poke fun at ignorant white people. Could he do it today the way Lenny Bruce did in 1961? No. He'd be pilloried as a bigot.

As North American man, I'm not sure how I feel about this.

True. Bruce's parodies of evangelical preachers were hilarious. Caustic and profane, but true to form. We aren't permitted to laugh at ourselves anymore.

Eddy Murphy, used to say things in his act all the time about races of people in his early days
