Staying logged in to DP even after "cold iron" reboot.

In the past when I have shut down my PC for the night when I start up in the morning I must login to DP, even if I did not log off before shut down.
Lately however when I go to cold iron without logging out, when I start back up I am still (or already?) logged in to DP.

This is true whether I am using FireFox of Brave, my preferred browsers, so I think it is a MicroSoft issue, perhaps.

Any suggestions?

Perplexed.

I mostly use Microsoft Edge, although I have used Firefox too. I shut down my computer every night and never had to log in again in the morning......except if this Admin did some software updates and we were down for some hours.

That would make sense if you used DP with a VPN, or in a private browsing session. Normal browser behavior would be to keep you logged in on a cold boot. It's possible that now your VPN is keeping your IP address on rebooting, which won't force a relogin.

Thanks for the feed back.
Have spent the morning double checking my security settings in different apps and accounts, which is something I should have been doing anyway.

If you are keeping the same connection, I believe it's because of a browser cookie.

Of course....

I went into both my browsers and set the privacy settings to dump all cookies, cache and other items when shutting down.
I thought I had it set this way before but have recently updated a lot of things and may have messed this up.

I use to travel a lot and used my laptops for doing systems checks. I always was concerned with my laptop being stolen during these checks and set things up pretty tight.
Thanks.

One thing I did find is that on one of my net based email accounts there have been MANY attempts to log in from all over the world but a lot of them are coming from Russia.

Maybe use an authentication app on your phone, will make it much more difficult for someone to succeed. I use Google Authenticator for all my logins attached to my emails and accounts tied to payment methods after my main email was compromised (which led to other accounts being compromised), and had no issues since.

Since the last massive update of our servers, my logging-out of DP has changed (I get some pop-up notice about a security issue and a suggestion to try logging-out again).

Never had an issue with logging-out previously through a decade of membership and numerous browsers.

Using the Brave browser, and have been using Brave since 2019. No problems previously.

This is something that I believe the Adminsalready know about, but have not been able to remedy so far.

I've been using FF for years but am warming up to the Brave browser.

Yes, have installed an authentication app on my phone and now use it when available.

You may have left the 'remain logged on' box at login...

Yeah, I had not finished setting things up, had I?
Well, I got some practice. MY new PC crashed and the company sent a boot drive. So I get to to it all over again. Only this time I cannot locate my bookmarks.

I can relate. I'm an analog person confused in the digital world. You know what I hate most? People that are good at computers telling me to 'just go ahead and try it...you're not going to break it'. I proved them wrong.

Was working with another tech installing a position sensing device. It has a cable that plugs in using a "D" shaped connection so you don't get it backwards. Several conductors in the connection. I had witnessed another guy install one that was impatient and since you have to plug the connector in blind tried to force it together, shorting out some circuits.
I told the tech I was currently watching to be careful, you can almost plug it in backwards and short it out. He was a know it all and said there is no way you can plug it in backwards then flipped the connector and jammed it in to show me. Sure enough, it shorted out and it made an odd chirping noise as it died.

I replied, yeah, that just how the other one sounded with they fried it.
Dude was mad.
