"The Fair Fight Political Action Committee on Wednesday told The Associated Press it has donated $1.34 million from its political action committee to the nonprofit organization RIP Medical Debt to wipe out debt with a face value of $212 million that is owed by 108,000 people in Georgia, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

“I think of this as politically tithing to help the community we are advocating for and with,” Groh-Wargo said, saying the group has done smaller scale charitable efforts."

Good stuff!!

Nice sentiment but hardly a drop in the bucket.

Good strategic move to keep your name in the press.

Wow. That's a very nice gesture. I'm sure the people who are burdened with that debt are very grateful for the support.

Didn't really expect that response either.
No hate here. It was a good political move by Abrams; as the CEO stated, think of it as political tithing. Spend a little and generate a higher return in positive press. I'm more interested in the group that's been able to clear away 5 billion of debt in 7yrs.

Do you think a part of this is Abrams is hoping those who receive these funds show their gratitude come election time

it appears to be a good move for the people involved and their families.

kinda like what Christians would do.

Yep. And to think a small tiny little tax on the mega billionaires could pay all that debt off and more.

I am sure the primary reason was to help the people get out of debt. No one will turn down votes because they helped people out.

Conservatives should try it. But unfortunately greed takes over.

Then we differ on the primary reason

Sure it is. Not sure what your Christian comment is going for but keep in mind this isn't Abrams' money, it's the PAC's. Also, this is debt that would likely never be collected from the vast majority of people. Which is why organizations are more than willing to dump it for virtually nothing to debt collectors. Most don't incur medical expenses willingly so this company has found a nice niche that does help people and allows for donors to generate good will. Win, win for everyone.

Is Stacey still pushing her BIG LIE?

it's almost like you're against this "Christian like" help.

Lol. You are trying hard I'll give you that.
actually, you are.

which is weird because all this does is help American families (mainly in the South).

Nice sentiment but hardly a drop in the bucket.
Now really did you expect Stacy Abrams to wipe out all debts due to health problems.

BRING ON MEDICARE FOR ALL SINGLE PAYER .......... to rid the nation of all medical debt and no
more bankruptcies due to health care.
