Good news for Virginians living in the 13th district who think that husbands should be allowed to rape their wives: State Senator Richard “Dick” Black has fought for your right to do so. And now he’s running for Congress.
The rabidly conservative Republican was one of the state delegates who argued against criminalizing spousal rape in 2002, asking his fellow assemblymen, “How on earth you could validly get a conviction of a husband-wife rape when they’re living together, sleeping in the same bed, she’s in a nightie, and so forth, there’s no injury, there’s no separation or anything.”
Rape is rape and no means no. It's as simple as that.

Dick Black disagrees.
I'm wondering how many out there agree with him.
He's running for public office.
Yahoo!
So there it is.
Man and woman are married.
Can a man rape his wife? Can he be charged with the crime of rape? Sentenced and sent to jail?
That kind of rape.
Is there such a thing as spousal rape?
Does no mean no in a marriage?
Or is DICK Black's view reasonable and valid?
So what happens when there's a domestic squabble and she says she got raped even when that wasn't the case? The DNA is going to be there. It will be her word against his and he'll have one hell of a time proving he's innocent.
The thing is, how do you prove it?Yahoo!

It's one thing to prove sex occurred, but it's another to prove that the sex was rape. How do you do that? The same way that you prove any case in court-with evidence.

If there's one slogan that doesn't get old or annoying to me, it's the truth that "rape is rape". Not really up for debate, at least not for any decent human being.

You don't have to prove your innocence though to not be convicted.
Right. What is that method? How do you prove sex outside marriage was rape?I'd imagine the same way you prove sex outside of marriage is rape.
No means no, in or out of marriage.
Anyone who doesn't understand that has a serious problem.
Try explaining that to your boss, family and friends.
I think it's clear that everyone here agrees the 'no means no'. The trick is proving to disinterested 3rd parties who weren't there and don't know either person, that 'no' was actually said at all.No means no, in or out of marriage.
