Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) predicted that there could be legal challenges in some states if President Biden is not the Democrats’ presidential nominee, setting up potential ballot access conflicts if the president chooses to leave the campaign.

..“[Democrats] have real problems, I mean, every state has their own election system. That’s our constitutional system,” Johnson said in a CNN “State of the Union” interview with Jake Tapper on Sunday. “That’s the way it’s done. And in some of these states, it’s a real hurdle.”

Joe Biden
was chosen after a long, small-D democratic process by 14 million people emerging through that primary,” he continued. “It will be very interesting to see if the so-called party of democracy, the Democrats, go into a backroom somewhere and switch it out and put someone else at the top of the ticket.”

It seems unlikely they would prevail since Biden has not been officially nominated. But when you own judges the way the GOP owns all these Federalist judges, you can't rule anything out.

Translation: Repubs do NOT like the fact that Biden has dropped out of the race.

America, we're about to see it!!!

If SCOTUS approves a GOP state taking the Dem off the ballot after allowing traitor Trump to stay on the ballot it will be clear who is really engaging in Lawfare this election.

Does he think Biden is legally obliged to run?

They will, rhe unamerican gop, try to challenge anyone in states

The SCOTUS decreed that the Republicans could nominate a seemingly constitutionally ineligible candidate, so the Democrats should be able to nominate their candidate of choice.

Republicans can't win unless they can stack the deck.

Then what's the DNC convention for? Just a big party?

It's garbage. If he died, if he was removed via the 25th, etc, there would be a replacement process. Even the VP incumbent that was holding office after that would still need to be confirmed...or not.

Besides, Joe can just an executive order to stop any legal processes they try to use to stop it. According to SCOTUS, he has immunity for any official acts of his office. Shows how scared the GOP is tho :D

I called out some weeks ago that this would be the MAGA response.

The Republican Six accorded the President broad immunity. Biden may as well take advantage of it....
