Sound system requirement to stream from a desktop

I understand I can purchase speakers using 110 V for power
Want to use wired speakers from my desktop to stream
What do I need?
Can I also use an interface of some app when on the balcony to use an Android through the desktop to play the streamed music?

I live in an over-50s building, so I don't need loud, just a better sound of wired speaker

Do you have Amazon Prime? If so you have Amazon music and its 100 million tunes.

Their Alexa speakers are pretty good and you can network as many as you want from your phone.
 
Oh my...this is very complicated...or very simple, depending on you. After all, sound is in the ear of the beholder.

My best advice is to do some research online. Start with a website that talks about all the different configurations...2.0, 2.1, the various surround sound sets. Decide what you want and then go to speaker review sites, i.e. "best speakers of 2025". Then decide what level of quality you require and, if price matters, how much they cost.

Once you get the ones you chose, plug them in and enjoy them. Don't forget to check out the options in your computer's sound settings. You can do a lot of sound shaping there to dial the whole thing in.

These are my speakers. Nowhere near the best, but good enough for me.


Streaming music through your computer speakers usually doesn't require Android. Most Android music streaming platforms have a Windows app that you can install on your desktop. Go to the Microsoft Store on your PC and look for the one(s) you use.

If there isn't a Windows app for your platform, you can still play your music through your PC, but it involves using an Android emulator on your PC. That's a program that allows your PC to run pretty much any Android app. There are a number of emulators. I've used a few. One is called Bluestacks.

That's another option.

You can also stream from your PC to Bluetooth speakers. And there are some very good Bluetooth speakers on the market.

Why does the term "monoblock" mysteriously add five thousand bucks to the price of an amplifier?

I have my desktop sync'd to both a set of Apple Airpods Pro and over ear Bose via Bluetooth.

Very flexible when streaming.

I agree. Why mess with wires.

The quality isn't the best you can find, but I have lots of Ryobe tools. I have their Bluetooth speakers. They are very nice for the price, and no need for the price of the battery if you already have them.
