Sondland told Trump that Ukrainian President 'loves your ass' and would do 'anything you ask him to'

Trump doesn't care about Ukraine. He only cares about the "big stuff that benefits the president."

Time to move the goalpost again.

I thought all this second-hand, third-hand, fourth hand.....wait...we already had 1st hand knowledge, Trump's blocking many of the other 1st hand knowledge witnesses and records...
...
but now we have two more witnesses that actually overheard Trump talking about this stuff explicitly?

Oh Republicans, jettison this threat to our nation please. You get Pence for the remainder of the year anyway.

Must have been saying it for two weeks and especially the last week, Sondland is so boxed now. Hope he has good body guards because once he sings, the crap hits the fan.

Trump does not have a way to get to him either. Sondland has too much to lose and his future is not tied to Trump's coattails like Manafort and Stone.

Overheard Trump? That's not accurate. Is it?

"The president doesn't give a **** about Ukraine" That's the key phrase. It was all about the Bidens.

Republicans have to defend POTUS using taxpayer dollars to bribe or extort the Ukrainian president into investigating his political rival. The president was not acting on behalf of American interests but his own personal political interests.

"Sondland told Trump that Zelensky 'loves your ass,' "

Word has it that a preservative in Big Macs tends to tighten the skin. He'd better get in line to lick it if he's going to have any chance of expressing his affection while Trump is still infesting the White House.

Stone is crazy. Manafort is more afraid of Russian hitmen than anything.

They admitted the phone wasnxt on speaker. They only credibly heard one side of the conversation.

Good luck with that one. There are multiple witnesses to it. They all heard the same thing.

Two different people misheard the same thing?

And what happens if Sondland confirms all of this? Will you then agree that Trump should be removed?

The House Committee is going to shove that call right up Sondland's butt and he won't have a way out but sing. I expected Sondland to be this STUPID because he simply is not, was not prepared for the world he forced his way into. Just because you are "savvy" enough to buy a post that you want, does not mean you are prepared for this kind of big time corruption. I would be surprised at DonDon were it not for what I know to be true. DonDon will continue to walk out on the limb until somebody stops him. He will not stop himself. Never has and never will.

Actually, I've been thinking of having a shirt or two printed. Perhaps something like "F- Trump" on the front, and a graphic on the back (say, his head on a tantrum-throwing baby on the floor of a jail cell).

Or maybe "I donated my career to Trump and all I got was this conviction."

The contrast between Marie Yovanovitch and Gordon Sundland makes a good argument for why no president should be allowed to make any political appointments based on how much someone donated to their campaign and should instead be required to appoint foreign ambassadors from within the State Dept with people experienced in foreign service.

In reading the transcript it appears that Holmes is the one who first used the phrase "doesn't give a ****". He then goes on to say that Sondland agreed with him, possibly repeating that language. It does not say that Trump said he doesn't give a **** about Ukraine.

While I have no reason to disavow the veracity of Holmes' claims and believe that the conversation was certainly unwise, it does not convey anything about any interest in the 2020 election.

It's pretty abhorrent when you consider that Trump didn't give a '****' about Ukraine and only cared about 'big stuff' that benefits him like the Biden investigation. Ukraine is in a fight for their lives and to make matters even worse, Ukraine isn't unified in their fight for independence, they're a very split country politically. Ukraine is divided. Deeply, deeply divided by language, by history and by politics. One-third of the country speaks Russian as its native language, and in practice even more use it day-to-day. The Russian-speakers mostly live in one half of the country and the Ukrainian-speakers live in another.

It's not just that Ukraine has two halves that predominantly speak different languages. They have different politics – and different visions for their country. The Russian-speaking, eastern half of Ukraine tends to be, big surprise, more pro-Russian. The pro-E.U.-deal protests have mostly been in the Ukrainian-speaking, western half. My father in law came from the Western side of Ukraine. He spoke many languages including Ukrainian of course, Russian, Polish and Czech and some Italian.

The country is a source of food and a transit hub for Russian energy exports and is economically and strategically important to Russia. Ukraine makes or breaks Russia's self-image as a great power, which has fared poorly since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Putin needs to keep Ukraine out of the EU and NATO. This is what Ukraine wants. They want their own democracy and independence from Russia. Having another NATO country on it's border is not what Putin wants. Since their independence in 1991, elections have been near-evenly split between the two halves, pulling the country in opposite directions. Ukraine has never had a coherent national unit with common objectives and that's why the US is a major player in Ukraine to encourage their independence and democratic growth.

Marie Yovanovitch, as former US Ambassador to Ukraine understood that 'Russia without Ukraine is a country; Russia with Ukraine is an empire.' "

Two different people overheard this.

I hear it was at least that many. How many were at that table? 5? I forget, haven't seen much today except bits and pieces.

I hate to break this to you, but I've literally sat and overheard an entire conversation of both sides of the call because the phones volume was turned up so loud. So no, it's very simple to hear what's spoken by the person on the other end without enabling speaker.

Try not to get stabbed

Good luck with that one. There are multiple witnesses to it. They all heard the same thing.

I was caring for a sick friend awhile back and she got a phone call related to some business I'd been taking care of for her. Without her putting the speaker on, I had an entire conversation with the person on the other end. I doubt the GOP would be so stupid to question this being possible because it takes one call to prove it's entirely possible.

Hearing both sides happens whenever the in-laws call the missus.......the gentleman from Louisiana probably is using string and Beef-a-roni cans for a land line. ...
