So who comes into power after Trump is out?

J.D. Vance is quickly solidifying his role as the next presumptive leader of Trump's MAGA movement.

Trump said recently that Vance would "most likely, in all fairness," be his successor for 2028 and admitted that Vance is "probably favorite at this point."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio would likely be Vance's running mate. It would be very difficult nearly impossible for the socialist AOC or the incompetent California governor Gavin Newsom to beat that ticket.

🤣

Vance is one of the least charismatic humans I've ever seen, and Rubio would never run as Vance's VP. If anything, Rubio will be running against him in the 2028 primaries.

Trump could die of a heart attack on 5th ave & cons would still vote for him
He’s been talking a lot about heaven lately, has blood flow issues and some rather odd hand bruising as of late. I really wonder what they are hiding.

Trust is a funny thing. What happens when most Americans don’t trust either major party to be in power? I certainly don’t trust either one. Because we have a two-party system where one or the other is guaranteed to be in power, I’ve become a huge fan of divided government. That is the only way to guarantee a check on the power of the party over an entire nation. If the republicans have the presidency, then the democrats need control of either the house or the senate and vice versa. When we have a democratic president, the republicans need to control either the house or the senate.

When one party is in full control as the republicans are now, they force their agenda on all the rest of us whether we like it or not. Same happens when the democrats are in full control.
true . but divided government is even more unable to get anything done. we wind up with "do nothing Congress"

Some interesting observations on this.
The most economically 'conservative' govt is a Dem president with a GOP controlled House or Congress. The GOP will do all they can to stop the president from creating any popular spending programs by squeezing the spending budget. If we have a GOP congress and a GOP president the GOP congress suddenly don't care to squeeze as hard.
If we have a GOP president and a Dem Congress/House, the Dems are more likely to support the presidents spending so long as they can negotiate some of their own priorities into the deal. That combo is not generally as fiscally conservative as the above combo.

lol, vance doesnt do shit just like all other VPs. Well, he does lick trumps...

Considering you are talking about the guy who still pretends he won 2020 election and was going with fake electors scheme, he certainly CAN.

No he can't. He doesn't get a say in this. He automatically ceases to be President at noon on Jan 20th.

Perhaps. In the past what divided government did was make both parties compromise, play that old political game of give and take. That is until we entered today’s modern political era of polarization, the great divide, the super, mega, ultra-high partisanship. In this era, both parties govern only for their base, not all of America. Divided government didn’t stop Obama as during his last six years in office, he ruled via executive order. The same Trump is doing today even though the republicans have full control of government. Using executive orders to govern only for his MAGA base.

It seems a president nowadays doesn’t need full control, that even in times of divided government that president now rules via executive orders. Perhaps I should say, legislates via executive orders. In reality, divided government doesn’t lead to nothing being done, things get done by bypassing congress as Trump is currently doing.

It's this governing only for one’s party base that has led to the turnover in the presidency. Obama did it, but to a much lesser extent than Trump. Then during Trump’s first term he governed only for his base, he was defeated in 2020. Biden made the same mistake of governing only for his base, now Trump is doing the same. Hence, don’t be surprised come 2028 we have a democrat as president. We’ve entered the era of the one term president.

That combo worked great during Bill Clinton last six years with the republicans in control of congress. That combo brought the deficit down to almost nil in Bill’s last year as president.

Trump's special talent is that his ape-like demeanor speaks to people who primarily think in terms of the lowest 2 rungs in Maslow's hierarchy, which tends to bring in the less educated. Vance is very different is really only good at talking to a narrow part of the Trump coalition, which are the manosphere-grifter-programmer and the mythic-past-fascist types. Outside of that, he has no real appeal. He will be seen as too much of an egghead for that same base that Trump primarily appeals to. If you want someone who can speak Trump's language, then you are probably going to need to elevate an instagram influencer.

Trump is not looking very healthy these days. He is phoning it in when it comes to the presidency. He only wants attention but doesn't want to do the work.

So, when he is no longer around who takes the reins? We all know Peter Thiel has been grooming his Boy Toy JD Vance. But Vance has no charisma and has been booed at many appearances. Steven Miller, who is like a pimple on the country's ass, is currently powerful but does he have any power after Trump is out of office?

America is already finding out that Trump's promises are BS. So can anyone else step in?

And before anyone responds "but Democrats", I acknowledge that they have work to do but the RePubes are their own worst enemy. I've already seen that places like Utah and Iowa are waking up. Thoughts?
Fortunately, cults rarely carry on when the cult leader is gone.

No, AOC would lose the ticket for sure. I'm looking at Wes Moore as the second coming of Obama. Handsome, eloquent black man who could run rings around a Republican contender. And yes, I said "black man".
But is he "clean"?

At leas the Oval Office will get a new couch.

I don't think he'll be in office again, but he has a scheme to run as VP, and have the president resign. The only thing in the way is the Supreme Court, so nothing probably.

Trump is ineligible as VP as the VP has to be "eligible and ready" to assume the duties of president....and is NOT

Trump has had two terms thus he is ineligible as VP, which means he'll probably do it.
