So POLITICIAN Trump can trash any American he wants (on social media) but comedians can't/shouldn't tell jokes about him. Is that really where we are?

Old people’s skin is a sensitive. Trumps has always been very thin. Now it’s almost 80 years old, crepey and covered in orange makeup. But still thin.
 
Mark Twain once said, “Never pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel”. Today, we are being shown that picking a fight with those who own the media waves is proving to be a negative option for those who believe in free speech.

Every day, we see and/or read another tale showing just how fragile is the President's ego. The slightest criticism and he begins ranting about shutting down that critic's access to public media.

Trump can call for a firing squad to shoot Liz Cheney in the face, and it's okay with MAGA.

A comedian who hosts a late-night TV show, though, isn't afforded free speech latitude that approaches trump's.

Yet again, MAGA exposes its double standard.

The reality is, Trump is a dictator. He hasn't become full blown yet because we still have a variety of checks and balances. But they are dwindling.

In Donnie-2-Dolls mind, he wants power like Un or Putin and I think he believes it will come. Every day with this guy is yet another power grab.

The sad reality is if we don't stop Trump with whatever means it takes; we will become Russia. I don't know about all you folks, but I don't want to become Russia.

(And Trump is not doing this by himself. The Heritage Foundation wrote the authoritarian playbook and are right there with him every single day supervising)

It's HuffPo, so grano salis, but I just finished reading it, and it makes a good case that the Trump regime's legal arguments about ICE are a back door to militarizing elections:

Or contest the results such that House and Senate refuse to seat newly-elected members. The military would be brought in to deal with the resultant protests.
