Some leaders are lucky. Some not. This time Trump knew how to pick his battles and he was lucky the results were excellent.
And, of course, he expects slings and arrows from the Opposition when he does something right, because that is what the angry Opposition does.
When they have so few cards to play they have to come up with something their ignorant followers can accept. Pretty much like the believers on the streets of Iran who want to believe, like the people in the Land of Oz, the Ayatollah really put it to the U.S. by bombing a U.S. base in Qatar.

Maybe, but it also seems to have been a suggestion of disaster. Black stuff coming out of the earth making waters rise all over the world. Here, look at the detail from within the snake that spews out the water. In the right panel here we have the ball-and-stick model of methane superimposed on the Lewis structure for the electrons. In the middle, a representation of high-frequency light reaching the ground and low-frequency light having trouble making it up. The left perhaps suggesting a methane clathrate that can break down to accelerate the warming process. There seem to be little methane references hidden all through the thing...

I can't deny I would feel the same about Iranian people if it wasn't for the fact that every time I meet for foreigners who have been there and spend time there they ALL tell me that Iranian people are some of the most modern and friendly people in the middle east and do not represent what the regime stands for. In addition, I have never heard people talk bad about Iranian people, other than the stuff in the news.

The difference is soo big, that I tend to believe it. But than again, I have never been there myself.

Here, Iranians often identify as "Persians" as one regime after another has poisoned the world view of Iranians generally.

Iranians, or Persians are an ancient society. They were the first middle east people to have a relationship with Europeans. It is a long, long and unlikely story but Persians and Polish people were strong allies at one time.

The modern era has brought nothing but strife to the region, most mishandling by the British occupiers.

As secularism grows, battle lines are drawn, a system fed eagerly by Iran's occupiers. Persecuted and powered over they became rabid in their faith. Khomeni was the natural result of that oppression.

If 3 different people claim one of them they can all claim they are right that their snake is the most dangerous snake. Same applies here of course. I think Kim is the worst for his own people. But with China I worry about the future. Xi wants things that can only be achieved by means of violence. And he is preparing for this at every level you can think of. And you do not want people to have power who do not know how to treat people humanely. And China has repeatedly shown, and keeps on showing, that they do not care about people. The Uyghurs, the Tibetans, the Taiwanese, the Muslims at large, the Mongols, and everybody who has the slightest objection against the CP.
