Interesting short article on US migration. We are looking at Delaware. The 90's and humid over the past month has been brutal. Nice 80 and low humid day today.

Today wasn't like living in a forge, which was nice. I'm still looking forward to autumn.

Boo hoo.....gonna be over 110 for the next 10 days, just like the last 10 days. It doesn't even get as low as 90.

Its not just the heat, its the humidity. Even mid 80s and humid is miserable. I would take light jacket weather any day.

We had the edge of a monsoon storm hit us last night, but the rain pretty much evaporated when it hit my driveway. Hopefully we get something tonight. We need a gully washer, that will pull down the temps for a few days.

Good Grief, it is JULY! Such drama!

I spoke with my daughter a few days ago, vacationing in Central America, and noticed the kids were waring long sleeves.
I am not that familiar with the weather in Central America so I asked what the temperature was, it was 4 pm her time and she said it had
started colder earlier, in the low 60's, but had warmed up to 69F.
Perhaps it was just a cold day, but it reminded me of the my visit to central Mexico as a teen.

Altitude matters also. Any idea at what elevation they are at?

Obviously it is so dramatic to mention 600 plus people died in one county of Arizona in 2023 due to heat. It's hotter this year.
Go turn on your AC.
About 10 times more people die of the cold.

Six thousand people died in one county in Arizona due to cold? Are you citing a different county?
Globally more people die from the cold than from the heat.

MY point was that 600 people died in one county in Arizona due to extreme heat, in an answer to a ridiculous post that concern about high temperatures was "drama"

Since you have great statistics on hand, has there been a constant ratio between heat and/or cold deaths over the years, or is heat catching up?

oh?

Show the stats.

And do you consider dying of thirst part of heat related deaths? The medical profession does.

When you are cold, you can get warm, even in the Arctic and Antarctic....it's called an igloo. Perfectly shaped to contain the heat being generated by a man and his sled dogs..no fire necessary.

When you are hot, you cannot get cool unless there is a pool or a lake, ocean, whatever and your time in that water is limited.

Thus, there are more heat related illnesses and death in a heat spike than an entire winter!

Believe and accept it or show me the stats!

Don't miss the extreme heat nor extreme cold. Where I am at the moment the winters are mostly in the 50's and 60's, while summers are mostly mid 70's to mid 80's. Never see 90's, and seldom see 40's. It's mid morning on a mid winters day here today. Beautiful blue skies and 59 deg. Jackets off when out working in the sun because it's to warm. Pretty pleasant. The thought of moving back to extremely hot summers and relying on air conditioning to stay alive isn't at all exciting.

Thanks for the link. I'll take a look at it, but first impression is these global statistics do not negate the fact that OUR country is experiencing extreme heat events in quicker and quicker succession, and none of that is good

Do you have a link that verifies we are experiencing extreme heat events scientifically?

Which county? And why no link?

If you can't take the heat... You know...

Do you know specifically where these people live that died? The Urban Heat Island Effect keeps getting greater with each passing year in most places. They you get hotter than normal cycles, that it is a recipe for more heat deaths.

Last year in one county:
