What the king wants, the king gets.

Smithsonian erasing history, removes Trump from display of impeached presidents.

(sorry no nonpaywalled version yet)

The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in July removed
references to President Donald Trump’s two impeachments from an exhibit
display. A person familiar with the exhibit plans, who was not authorized to
discuss them publicly, said the change came about as part of a content review
that the Smithsonian agreed to undertake following pressure from the White
House to remove an art museum director.

A temporary label including content about Trump’s impeachments had been on
display since September 2021 at the Washington museum, a Smithsonian
spokesperson told The Washington Post, adding that it was intended to be a
short-term addition to address current events. Now, the exhibit notes that
“only three presidents have seriously faced removal.”

from the wapo article:

Now, the exhibit notes that “only three presidents have seriously faced removal.”

In addition to describing Trump’s two impeachments, the temporary label — which read “Case under redesign (history happens)” — also offered information about the impeachments of presidents Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton, as well as Richard M. Nixon, who would have faced impeachment had he not resigned. The Post viewed a photograph of the temporary signage.

Now that display has returned to the way it appeared in 2008, according to the Smithsonian spokesperson....

Someone sounds sad and triggered.

I guess you'll have to find your temporary labels somewhere else since Trump is the current President.
????

Not at all. But, since you're responded to the thread, I'll ask you the question pertinent to the topic:

What do you think of the Smithsonian's altering historical record by removing trump from the grouping of impeached Presidents?

Why was he impeached? This is fun.

It's not historical if it is currently happening.

Writing the history of the Trump presidency is bad form. It's still his presidency. I can see how they pressed to write it thinking he was done after the first term but that simple isn't the truth.

How do you figure?

Huh?

Did you read the OP?

Maybe you should read your link.

You don't answer a question by asking a different question. Because you refuse to answer the question that is directly pertinent to the topic - the one I posed to you in Post #6 - you are coming perilously close to disclosing your lack of good faith.

So, here's another opportunity for you to play the good citizen:

What do you think of the Smithsonian's altering historical record by removing trump from the grouping of impeached Presidents?

Trump is currently being impeached?

What you've quoted doesn't indicate the poster is "triggered".

Back to the question I've asked you:

I can say whatever I want. If you struggle with that, I don’t care. My lack of “faith”? I have been a good citizen for 63 years. I can assure you I am not looking for your approval. Please do carry on….

He was actually impeached in his first term. Twice.

I "struggle" with nothing where you are concerned. Posting in bad faith is evidenced by a continuing refusal to answer a question that is directly pertinent to the topic of the thread.

The OP indicated that the exhibit notes the following....

Now, the exhibit notes that
“only three presidents have seriously faced removal.”

What about that is a lie?

Stick to what I say. I did not say the Smithsonian has "lied".

It's what I pointed out: an alteration of the historical record.

Do you support the Smithsonian's altering the historical record by removing trump from the "impeached Presidents" grouping?
