This is interesting. It indicates serious erosion at the heart of Trump's base.

President Donald Trump heads into the debate trailing former Vice President Joe Biden. Trump is the first incumbent to be losing in the polls at this point since George H.W. Bush in 1992.

Key Points:
 
Trump has been losing white voters w/o degree in a steady stream since mid-summer. All of his efforts to this point have been to diddle around the edges of that problem:
- voter suppression
- Cuban immigrants in Florida

But it won't be enough considering just the percentage of white voters in the population.

Like it or not ACA and Pre-existing conditions coverage is wildly popular in this country and polls are way in favor of maintaining a woman's right to choice. Trump just stabbed his campaign right in the heart.

Lets not even talk about Trump's pitiful performance v COVID though that is not helping him either.
 

When the President became the first president since President Eisenhower in his last days before permanently leaving office to criticize the military industrial complex and chicken hawks I figured Trump will lose. I gather you actually believe us peasants have any say over the wishes of the richest and most powerful corporations and people on earth? Really?
 
If Republicans don't win anywhere between 57%-60% of the white vote, they will lose.
 
Yeah, but Trump has been making inroads with some Hispanics, particularly So. Florida Cubans. He also might be picking-up a point or two from the African-American community.
 
I wouldn't count-out the efficacy of voter suppression, especially considering PA mail-in ballots recently had a 6% spoilage rate. That's a big deal in a critical state, since I believe AZ - not FL - will be this election's bellwether.

As to So. FL Cuban immigrants, it seems Trump is really cleaning-up with them. Quite honestly, I do not see Biden winning FL, especially with FL's pretty effective voter suppression (incl recounts & tabulation & legal environment).
 

I don't think Biden wins Florida either. But whites makes up 60% of the electorate. Trump was already losing college educated whites and women and he has basically sunk himself with Black Americans. Losing measurable numbers of non-college whites is a big blow which is why he is pulling all this other crap. Trump is losing and he knows it. Also I am not sure the spoilage claim will hold in Pennsylvania. The state had already ruled that it should count those naked ballots. So that is still a court battle to be had. Then again how many will figure out that their ballots were tossed if they are in fact tossed and just show up on Election Day. People are pretty dead set on voting this election come hell or high water. Can you blame them?

Biden makes a reasonable first debate showing and I think the handwriting is on the wall for Donnie boy if its not already.
 

Rich people and corporations got everything they want out of Donnie Boy. They know when hurting everybody else more just hurts them. Plus its not like Biden isn't pro business and they know. You don't think anybody actually believes that Biden owned by Socialists horse crap do you?
 
I don’t put much trust in the polling... Rasmussen was the only poll to get it correct last time and they are showing a tight race. There is a strange phenomenon with trump among “white upper middle class and Educated voters” where they won’t admit they are voting for Trump... but then go do it. also he has much stronger support among black and Hispanic voters than everyone expected. I think it’s a close one.
 

I don't see Biden winning FL either, but Obama winning it twice gives me a slight glimmer of hope. It can be done...it's just very hard, especially with Trump's toady DeSantis running the show.
 
I guess even the uneducated whites get annoyed when Trump goes anal on them for long enough.
 
What if Biden fails miserably at the debate. Does Trump jump out in front or do you have some rationalization for your support of Biden on standby

Just because you do not go on to college, does not mean you are uneducated.
It's also an insult to those who choose skill based careers.
 
Why go to College? All that does is widen the income equality gap leftist Democrats rail against.

Uneducated voters in this context is used in contrast to college educated voters. Uneducated simply means not college educated.

Having a college education on average does result in higher incomes over ones career but that doesn't at all mean that a college education is responsible for the widening income gap. Its the difference between correlation and causation, something you might of learned about in college.
 
Who is more important in regard to the upcoming election?

Smarter uneducated whites or dumb educated whites?
