Used to be, as you aged, and gained children and payments, you became evermore Conservative. This was like clockwork. Sure some of us REALLY paid attention, and remained devoted to equality and justice. But by and large, cons sold their product well. With red lines and faith in the basic decency of Americans. That is GONE. The Millennials are already thru with the right wing. Trump is causing dissaffection to work its way up the generation alphabet. Trump in flouting and insulting our norms, has left a LIFELONG bad taste in our patriotic mouths. Many now are committing to socialism, or at least a taste of it. People see clearly that leadership is a life and death necessity. That Gov is the only one to help, when the shit hits the fan. We see how quickly our adversaries can turn our mistakes into opportunities to ruin us.
And we are changing the basic calculus that used to function. The center of debate will become unbearable for right wingers, as they are not asked for their opinions in the media. There will be the liberal and conservative Democrats. When this occurs, right wingers will become extinct, as the game of musical chairs is down to two.
Even those that Could have been reached, have chosen the opposite, as the aggression, hatreds and intention of harms to Americans and refugees, tweaks the basic sense of justice we all have.
Trump has screamed the sky is falling, and that Democrats are all fit for prison, that we now will yawn at almost any ridiculous charge. There cannot be a more buffoonish clown to ever again, make these charges in a more fantastical fashion.
Those that hate foreigners and minority Americans, are on their last legs. Why did the tea party go away? Many are dead. Soon, all the racists and homophobes will be purged. God certainly wont have them. Their hatred will become only a memory of fools.
The Republican party is about destroyed, and the right wing are ready to jettison it, as they are ready to die on this hill. They will all just flee to the Libertarian party. And deny deny that they ever called for jailing suckling babies. Those remnants will be shunned. None the less. As the saying goes, MEAN PEOPLE SUCK. There is no down side to discriminating against scum, till they change their souls.
No, right wingers are not all lost. Peer pressure has made many a thug a decent neighbor. These too will change. PC will do what it is supposed to. Put up guardrails where laws are too much.
