1824: John Quincy Adams.
1876: Rutherford B. Hayes.
1888: Benjamin Harrison.
2000: George W. Bush.
2016: Donald Trump.

None of them Democrats.

It is far more to intellectually honest to say that Trump went after an Electoral College victory and he won it. Hillary failed in that category. Don't blame Trump. Blame Hillary.

So he won because he gamed the system better than his opponent. Wonderful. That the system can be played like that to defeat the actual will of the people is disgusting.

Do you have any evidence to support that claim of fact?

"They" believe their own imaginations. They are mind readers apparently....then again it's no surprise since more than one half the people believe in ghosts, spirits and the like.

The right wing has always been very very big on belief. Basically they believe and that makes it true. Or to put it another way, they believe what they want to believe because they believe it. It is an extremely faith based ideology.

You do. You have contempt for the part about the EC. I hold no such contempt.

No, he played by the rules and won. Hillary gave up votes that she might have had if she had campaigned in certain areas that went for Trump. You need to fault Hillary.

Trump won in the EC - yes he did. And his victory was legal but illegitimate as the fatal flaw of the EC is that it permits an elite to overrule the will of the American people.

There you go again. You blame the rules that have been in place for two centuries. The fault, dear Brutus, does not lie in the stars, but in Hillary.

While you have no clue what my beliefs are, I will grant you one thing, and that is... You have to stand for something or you will fall for anything. Merry Christmas, Russell.

If the Founders had not wanted us to have the ability to both criticize the Constitution and change it - they never would have given us Article V. The only contempt I have is for your tactics here.

The rules have a fatal flaw in them which gives us a LEGAL President but can also render him ILLEGITIMATE when that mechanism from the 1700s thwarts the will of the people.

The United States is a representive republic. The EC insures that. That's why President Trump is the legitimate president.

Okay, so you hold contempt for the Constitution. Got it. :2razz:

Well it was back in the 1700's. A great deal has changed since then including Jacksonian Democracy.... the post Civil War democratic reforms .... the Progressive Movement and the laws changed by it .... and the establishment of one person/one vote. We are no longer the same system we had in the 1700's . All that has changed.

Today we are far far more of a representative democracy in both structure and in practice. The EC is a part of the old system that - much of it anyways - has gone with the wind.

I guess you've never been backstage at a play or performance of any kind men and women routinely walk around in each other's dressing room or the common dressing room not a big deal. if he's guilty of a crime hanging if he's not you got to leave it alone so far he's not guilty of anything we still use the court system here right not the Lynch Mob

I think it is rather amusing if not downright funny.

I'll go for the downright funny. Riders of the Purple Sage is a romance, and Louis L'Amour inspired Star Wars. George Lucas is a big time L'Amour fan, as is Alan Dean Foster, both since their early teens. After all, Stars Wars is a space western.

So many opinions fail because they only develop after examining the superficial. Very little in this life is what it first appears to be.

Why? The Bible belt is the largest market for pornography.

omg!!!!!! :doh:roll::shock:

So now you blame me. Wow! Hillary is the one you should be disappointed in.

I blame you for intentionally and purposely perverting what I have said in order to pretend to score some points in your own head.

One thing that hasn't changed, is the Constitution. Call an Article 5 convention and abolish the EC, or STFU about it.

I blame you for intentionally and purposely perverting what I have said in order to pretend to score some points in your own head.

I have a skin made of the toughest metal made in the universe and I can take your blaming, and you have to take your using EC as an excuse as to why Hillary lost and live with that. Blame on!

Merry Christmas to you, haymarket.

It's not a crime to sexually harass someone...It's inappropriate behavior and cause for dismissal from most workplaces....but not Trump...it says something about the people who do such things....and it isn't nice. Every one of the other's in his situation have either been fired or have resigned their position. Even lost an election over it, but not Trump...
