The Elks Club really don't want it broadcast it but gay's are welcome as long as they behave themselves and don't bring shame or attention to the family aspect of the Elks Club. You also must be an American, not a hyphenated-American.
Since everyone is held to the same standards and there are no special protections for certain groups of people and everyone has to behave, most gays would rather get involved with organizations like the Boy Scouts where they can misbehave and act like kids.
Pretty much everybody, I'm sure. That happens to me a lot when I am dealing with lefties...
*smh*That is your opinion the BSA and a lot of people don't agree with you. That wasn't the question (though it's obvious NP is doing some baiting here). Lots of people do things that have no logical purpose, but that doesn't relate to whether or not said practice should be allowed or disallowed.
Please post evidence of what I placed in bold.
You never heard the gay slogan, "Let's misbehave" ?
Ever heard of ACT UP ?
You said "most". Your comments above do not qualify as "most".
Your trolling.
You're trolling. ACT UP is an organization that was formed and ended before I was even born. That's my birth, childhood, education, my coming out as gay and going through the entire BSA program to become an Eagle Scout. Amazing how you have dredged them up from history as a reference to attack "the gays" in a debate about the BSA and its membership policy.Your trolling.
act like kids.
You never been a BS or you would know Its part of their creed.
Please give your opinion and no personal attacks.
The logic is obvious. One of the basic tenets of the Scouts is a belief in God. Agree with it, disagree with it...its not really relevant. Gods word in the Bible is that homosexuality is wrong. Open acceptance of homosexuality is pretty much in opposition to their stated belief in God. Pretty easy to understand. Just as open acceptance of an avowed and unrepentant liar or open acceptance of a scout leader that is adulterous would be an affront to their stated values, so to would acceptance of homosexual scout leaders. There is and should be no more concern that an openly gay scout leader would be a predator than there is that a heterosexual woman would target scouts.
That is like saying no attack and then call me and SOB. It does not compute.

Not going to argue whether or not Gods word is right or wrong. Believe it, dont...not relevant. I know good people that happen to be gay. I have family members that are gay. I love them. I care for them. I would never tell them how to live their lives. I dont change what I believe just because I happen to know people that believe differently. I'll let God figure out the whole condemnation part.God's word in The Bible is that slavery is just fine! The Bible isn't always right. There are over 100 verses in The Bible that relate to the acceptability of slavery. Now, we look at those verses and rationalize: "They were a reflection of cultural norms at the time." The same can be said of the five or six verses that condemn homosexuality, in my opinion.
Here is Brothern, posting above you, who says he is a gay man. To condemn him for that? Not my God. Not the God I worship. The Bible is filled with contradiction. It is no more God's word than the hymns we sing in church.
You do realise many adults get involved in Scouting so they can act like kids, right?
I concur. Or they get involved enjoying their sons acting like kids.
One does not get involved with the Elks Club to act like kids.
The gay activist remind me of the guy in the wheelchair who goes from business to business with a tape rule looking for a violation of the ADA. Measuring how high the mirrors are in the restroom and how wide the aisle are.
A few years ago I would always be confronted by gays outside of a business gathering signatures to repeal DADT. I always asked them do any of you plan to join the military if DADT is repealed ? I didn't find one who planned on joining the military, they all hated the military.

Do I think they should? Yes. Do I think they should be forced to? No, as long as they don't receive federal money.
Whichever one you choose to believe in. Or not. The BSA happens to believe the one that says it is wrong.Well, there are many churches that welcome homosexuals. So which god/bible says it's wrong??
Yes. Discrimination is inconsistent with the lessons on quality of character that the Boy Scouts aims to teach its members. It probably needs to knock off all of the overtly religious elements, too. The Boy Scouts has a policy of discrimination against non-monotheists as well. With regard to both issues, it is impossible to teach good moral values and discrimination. One precludes the other.
For example. Moral straightness and discrimination based on sexuality or religion are completely incompatible.
