Earns us a few more people that hate us, for whatever price that's worth.
Greetings, SMTA. :2wave:
Says the person who ends all rationale discussion with calling Kerry a liar.If Kerry is talking, he's lying. He's a miserable sack of **** left in the sun for days.
Guess that shows you it's not a party line issue. My answer is to use diplomacy, that's kinda what we have a State Department for.
Hey, PG!
You are exactly correct.
Money only buys tepid friends until the money runs out.
We always get screwed.
Why is it always us though? Hey, since everyone seems to think China is whooping us how about China spend a little $$$ and do the humanitarian things for us? Hell, get the UN to start doing **** again. It's always the U.S. that has to do this **** and I'm tired of it. We focus on every single issue plaguing us domestically, once those are adressed, then and ONLY THEN can we once again begin helping the world.
Human beings that care about the fate of 200 abducted young girls?I disagree. We have no right, other than war, to enter another country with military forces without their permission. Who do you think we are??
We should get Congressional approval and then only go in if Nigeria asks for help.
The USA would not stand for another nation to come in and deal with Waco for us.
In this case, it's not about making friends. It's about sending a loud-and-clear message that if you kidnap 300 children? Thunder, lightening, and all hell will break loose on you and yours.
What do you think he should do?
Projecting what? If that's not what you mean, feel free to clarify. It was a bit harsh but that's how it read.
Or...own it. Up to you.
ONly some Muslims. You know that there have been Muslim countries with women PResidents right?
Actually they are valuable as they were likely kidnapped for sale.
Actually there is a ton the US can do.
Do nothing, its none of our business.Yeah part of me says Obama should send in a special ops team and put a bullet in every terrorist' head, but we shouldn't be the world's police.Pressure china, Russia or some other countries to save these girls.
No, it's how you interpreted it. Read it again in a calm and neutral voice in your head and stop projecting your interpretations of what people say as opposed to what they say.
Define something. We should do something. Humanitarian aid is one of the few areas where international intervention is morally acceptable.
It's our business because we live in this world. My sense of morality doesn't stop at some imaginary lines on a map. This is an especially unique and grievous affront to civilization and if we can do something to rectify it we should.

Not our problem, and our involvement will do nothing to stop future incidences.
The Shah of Iran did nothing to solidify the US as a future partner, now did he?
Those who ignore history are condemned to repeat it.
Fell free, though, to spend your own money and hire some mercs to send over.
The Obama administration will send military, intelligence and law enforcement advisors to Nigeria to help the beleaguered government find and rescue more than 270 teenage girls who were abducted by the Boko Haram terrorist group last month, the White House said Tuesday.
The team will share U.S. intelligence and provide investigative help, not military force, in the search for the students, who were kidnapped April 14 from a rural high school in Nigeria's Muslim-dominated northeast.
The deployment will mark the first public American assistance in a case that has sparked international outrage. The U.S. announcement came after the leader of Boko Haram vowed in a video to sell the girls as slaves, and after gunmen reportedly took at least eight more girls from another village overnight.
So be the policemen of the world. We tried that, failed miserably. Cost thousands of lives and trillions of dollars.
What goes on in another country is none of our business.
Just because you are a globalist does not mean other people are.
We shouldn't do anything. If Russia, China, UK or some other countries wish to intervene then let them. I do not wish for some other country to come into mine under the guise of saving someone. There are all kinds of horrible **** that goes on in the world, we can not stop every single one of those things nor should we
I could defend our need to be the 'policemen of the world' but that isn't even relevant. The question is merely should the United States intervene to rescue these girls if possible and the answer should be yes. It isn't contingent upon whether Russia or China are willing to do the same thing.
You don't have to be a globalist to care about what happens to people in other geographic localities.
Not that 'globalist' is a dirty word.
And the next time, and the next?
