This has become really sickening when the president of the United States of America is literally acting like a dictator sending his goons to democratic cities while ignoring the higher crime rates in some republican cities.

Is this the type of america we really want. The pendulum will swing back and when it does, if a democratic controlled government does what trump is now doing will you complain when president Democrat sends his troops to your town for your security?

It's long past time to stop this president from tearing america apart. He's taxing us to death with his tariffs that he insists other countries pay but in the meantime in the real world, we're bearing the brunt with higher prices everywhere. Is this the America you voted for when trump told you, lower prices on day one?

The only promise he has kept is to deport people whether or not they are criminals of the worst types, drug dealers, murderers, gang members, that sort and yet all I see getting arrested is people trying to go to work.

Wake up republicans, you can say anything you wish to try to defend the president but you can't avoid his golden age and his higher prices.

Sending the national guard from one red state let alone more to another state to help in their crime problems sounds very suspicious to me and why is it only red states are sending in their national guard to other blue states to 'help' with the problem?

Exactly yes, Faubus being governor of Arkansas at the time of the racial desegregation of the state's public schools in 1957.

Trump federalizing a state's National Guard removes the force from the governor's command and control, just as Potus Eisenhower did in Arkansas to support the Supreme Court in its Brown v Board decision of 1954. Potus Kennedy did the same thing later in Alabama.

Trumpizing the Illinois NG places it under the commander in chief of federal forces which we know is the Potus.

There's nothing a governor can do once the state's NG is federalized. Each governor knows this well. Worse yet, Trump can send any National Guard from any state into another state without the permission of the governor, which Trump is doing in DC because Trump Him Self is commander of the DC NG and commander in chief of the whole of the armed forces.

Federal forces would stay in their barracks instead. Deescalate passively, peacefully -- and give the country time to react against Generalissimo Trump. There will be no repeat of 1861 or anything like it.

Indeed and no governor can send the state's National Guard into another state without the specific permission and agreement of the other governor. This is law.

However, federalized NG of a state can enter another state on the order of the Commander in Chief which we know is the president, the Generalissimo Trump who commands all the armed forces.

There's nothing a governor can do once the state's NG is federalized. Each governor knows this well.

Trump has several red state NG in DC because Trump Him Self is commander of the DC NG and commander in chief of the whole of the armed forces. Trump has ordered elements of several red state NG into DC and the red state governors kissed the Generalissimo's ass immediately.

Trump did not try to send red state NG into Los Angeles in California because he knows better than to try it in the test case LA and CA still are in the WH. The test of using active duty Marines in LA and CA went bust fast too so there won't be any active duty troops of Army, Air Force, Marines in DC or anywhere else.

I doubt Trump will try to order red state NG into IL and Chicago and I doubt that Trump will federalize the IL NG into Chicago. Trump-Miller-Homan know Gov. Pritzker is ready for 'em and may order the IL NG to stand down instead of obey a Trump order federalizing it. Settle this one in the courts which would likely stay the whole thing to process the filings.

Pritzker though may order the state NG to report to their armories but remain there no matter what Trump says or tries to do. That would give the Guard cover for its mutiny. Or the IL NG may mutiny in this way and "on their own" knowing they have the backing of the governor and the legislature -- and that the matter would have to be settled in the courts sometime later on. Indeed, the WH knows Chicago and IL are not laid back LA and CA which to be fair to 'em were the first to get this and to be the test instance. Trump is still testing his limits of course about the NG.

I was around in the late sixties, I know what tear gas tastes like. I've also seen more often than not the violence is triggered with men with batons, not unarmed hippies.
