They're violating scads of journalistic ethics, and have become a tool of the government.

Should they be required to surrender their broadcast license?

...There's broadcast licenses? Why?

I voted "No" because I don't see any reason why these should exist.

While I agree with you, I voted "no" for other reasons I'll hold off on stating.

If you're on the same page I am, you're thinking that the EM spectrum should have been treated as titled property, similar to real estate, and the government's role limited to punishing trespassing and maintaining deed and title records.

I don't think so, but mostly because I think the FCC should only exist in terms of preventing piracy of purchased bandwidth. Though ABC is by no means holding up to journalistic integrity...though it's hard to find anyone who does honestly.

What an incredibly stupid and useless statistic. This compares to other media companies, and the general public how? Without knowing that, it is pretty meaningless.

If the FCC is going to license spectrum in this fashion, then licenses should not go to entities seeking to be propaganda shills of the government.

That statistic says that the staff of ABC is biased 80:1 towards The Messiah, or 98.8%.

That's the first useful bit that information leads to.

Then there's the fact that ABC is refusing to sell any commercial airtime to anyone with a different view of The Messiah's proposal.

The two together indicate their bias is both at the executive level and deep into the rank and file.

The FCC issues licenses subject to periodic review on the general public service provided by the broadcaster. If enough people filed enough complaints with the FCC over ABC's propaganda infomercial, the Democrat in charge of the FCC would have to ignore it all to continue granting ABC their license to lie.

Which is all that's going to happen, no matter what. No illusions here.

What's funny is the Democrat's muteness on the "Fairness Doctrine". Should not ABC allow a real American with professional expertise and knowledge about the issue his own hour to counterpoint The Messiah's Nuremburg Moment, or is ABC the real modern Volkischer Beobachter?

I think the major underlying problem is that we've lost the objectivity and integrity of our media. Though I don't know how far this would go to fixing that problem, I do think one thing we should do is return to the rules in which one person or company can only own one media outlet.

What Ikari said. There is no need for the FCC. Plus, if you are going to get rid of ABC, FOX would have to go, too. No outlets are more obviously biased than FOX and MSNBC. Free Press. Free Speech. Live with it.

Fox News isn't biased. They have a lefty like O'Reilly for op-ed, and they have good balanced news.

People that think Fox News is biased don't have a clue.

Easily the funniest post of the day. Congrats on that. I guess MSNBC isn't biased either. No sir.

No station that tolerates that countdown dude should half a license, merely because talking chimpanzees are an affront to nature.
