Thats what I said you ****ing idiot!
I'm acknowledging that.....
OK. Well don't make it sound like I am stupid.
My mistake...I had misread your post several posts ago and was acknowledging....or at least attempting to acknowledge that......
The right to be free a discrimination. The civil rights laws were enacted to prohibit businesses from engaging in this type of discrimination. Its part of doing business in this country. Why do you expect businesses to be able to operate freely without adhering to the rules that our society sets?
The right to be free from discrimination? Are you serious? We discriminate amongst many lines. The most frequent is that of ability. Or are you saying that a high school drop out should have the same probability of landing a job as head researcher in a government lab as a Ph.D. physicist? There is no right to be "free from discrimination". That's like saying you have a right to not be offended.
Are you aware of the civil rights laws that we have in this country? If not, you might want to read them. They do not apply to the situations that you are suggesting.
Of course I know the civil rights laws. I also know they don't apply to my case. Why? Because there's no right to be free from discrimination! We've merely created what we call "protected classes".
What case are you talking about?
If you know the civil rights laws and UNDERSTAND them...you would know that businesses are not allowed to operate by prohibiting access to people based on color, gender, age, ethnicty...etc.

You asked if I was aware of them, not if I agreed with them.
Sorry Ikari....but if you are going to live in this country, even in Idaho or Colorado....you have to comply with anti-discrimination laws.
Their business, their rules.
I agree, but they've shot themselves in the feet by refusing gays. No straight man is gonna make reservations at a quaint little B & B without his wife pulling him by the nutz. Gays and chicks are their only hope.
I think that's crazy that that is the only way a straight man will stay. I am the exception again. B&Bs are the way to go, cost about the same as a hotel and you get great beds and good breakfast usually. It's like staying at an Aunt's house.
Yep. I didn't want to make that point cause I figured everybody was thinking it anyway. Sorry, I'm a single guy, unless I am just fried beyond belief and need to escape I'd have to be dragged to a B&B.I agree, but they've shot themselves in the feet by refusing gays. So you would be ok with a movie theater saying blacks are only allowed to sit in the balcony?
Truth be told, I despise staying at B & B's. I love how charming they look, but I do not want to hear someone with a sensitive stomach in the bathroom all night. I only reserve rooms with private bathrooms, but there are still the rooms nearby with "access to shared bathroom" that curdles my stomach acids.

Yeah, I like getting a private bathroom, too. Still, I was in the Army so nothing phases me. I used to sleep in the back of a moving APC and that's no B&B!
I have to admit never hearing someone with a sensitive stomach all night. That would suck.
 :rofl That is true here in the States. In England going to a B&B is like going to a Super8 or Motel 6.
Their business, their rules.
We stayed at a place last summer, and I was woken up everytime the woman across the hall got up to ..... :unsure13: .... well, I don't think her dinner agreed with her.
You wouldn't want to be in the corner with them? Or near it?Yup!!!!! Although if it was 2 hot lesbians I really am NOT in his corner on this one
