RIGHT now I am sure I could find a gun in the UK. I know at least one person with an arrest record over there. Petty crap from when he was a teenager. But he grew up in a rough area in the northern part of England. He knew people who had guns. Wouldn't be that hard to buy one.
They have rifle shooters there. And shotguns. They have legal gun ownership. It is really strict to the point of impossible. But something tells me if I REALLY knew where to look I could find one with one of those people too lol.
Actually...in real time12:14 am
Firearms: cheap, easy to get and on a street near you | UK news | The Guardian
12:14am lol! Less than a minute I found a google post about how easy it is to get a gun lol. I wish I could get a webley for $150
Circling the wagons and waving a flag at me does not diminish the facts. Had that felon not had a gun it is almost certain that police officer would be alive today as would dozens of others who are yet to be slain this year
yes, it does, please sir.
where you completely and totally fail is saying "IF THE FELON HAD NOT HAD A GUN" is the same as pushing more gun laws
you gun banners cannot establish one would lead to the other
your goal is to disarm honest people and to pretend that will keep someone willing to face the consequences of murdering a cop is just plain idiotic
So are you saying that your society is therefore safer when such felons retain such easy access to firearms then ?
Your trust in the eagerness of violent criminals to obey gun laws is touching.
When what few laws you do have are so easy for them to get around then why should they worry ?
But once there are strict gun laws the felons will scrupulously abide by them, right?
No it will just make it a lot harder for them to get around them so easily.
Prove what I'm saying cannot be done then ?
No it won't. And experience shows that.
The facts differ.
In Europe gun killings are around 40 - 50 times lower per capita than the US due to far more stringent gun control. Police shootings are as a consequence very rare
I didn't say it couldn't be done. I said it was illegal. YOU said it wasn't. You were wrong.
I'm saying that by any measure such free and unmonitored access to firearms makes your society far less safe and that the police officer in the OP would doubtless be alive today were that not the case. Its not that difficult really
Police shootings are not more rare in Europe. You simply don't know the facts.
In most European countries with very strict gun laws it is perfectly easy for criminals to get illegal guns.
Don't let me stop you furnishing me with them then
The opposite is in fact the case. Whilst its not impossible for criminals to get a gun its extremely difficult and prohibitively expensive for them to do so, hence their far lower gun crime rates
Prove it
You don't understand the problem do you? Do you live in America? Are you a frequent visitor to impoverished areas? Have you watched the news? The increase in officer deaths isn't caused by guns. It is caused by ignorant scumbags who are nothing but murderers and the culture that not only fosters that behavior, but also encourages it and hides it from those who would bring them to justice.
Our drug trade created this. Our drug laws don't work. And blah blah blah.
I carry a gun every day. I'm safe. Your argument is invalid.
You have no idea what you are talking about. The going rate for a kalashnikov here in Brussels is very cheap.
How many Kalashnikovs did Belgian criminals use in committing crime last year ?
Quite a few actually. But also criminals from neighbouring countries also sometimes come to buy here. While prices for illegal kalashnikovs in most French and Dutch cities are between 1.000 and 1.500 euros they can be easily bought for anything between 500 and 1.000 euros here (there have been examples of them going as low as 200). Illegal handguns are of course much cheaper.
First do you acknowlege that with some 300 million guns in circulation you even have a problem ?
Quite a few Kalashnikovs eh ? Please cite an example ?
Just ****ing answer the question. stop dodging.
More gun control = less gun crime and there has been plenty posted on this thread confirming that already. Wrapping yourselves in flags and long since obsolete 18th century diktat doesn't change that fact
Why do you guys need dragged kicking and screaming from A to B just to what is the blatantly obvious ?
Well, currently the major criminal gangs in the major Dutch cities are busy eliminating a bit of the competition and using kalashnikovs for that. Of course kalashnikovs bought in Belgium werre also used in France earlier this year in january. Same with the use of a kalashnikov in the attack against the jewish museum in Brussels last summer. ... I could go on, but these are a few examples just off the top of my head.
