Shawn Moody campaign rocked by 12-year-old sexual discrimination charge - Lewiston Sun Journal

I couldn't believe when I saw it. A Republican involved in a scandal for discriminating against a woman.

Shocking.

This man shows up at this woman's house, who had been a long time employee in good standing by all accounts, and fires her while she is still on maternity leave with a newborn baby because....
“I want to see you grow,” he told her, according to the previously undisclosed complaint, but with her new parental obligations, “I’m not sure that you can do that in this job.”

So, one complaint in 40 years of business. A complaint that was apparently settled and has not since been repeated.

Big whoop. Guy made a mistake and learned from it. Get over it.

Did she grow?

Hmm...

The article goes on to say there are 25 women currently working for Moody, 18 with children and families, four of whom were pregnant while working for him with no issues.

No other complaints in 40 years of business.

So?

But if she signed a non-disclosure agreement....then perhaps there are others who did as well...and that might explain why his company record looks "unusually clean."

These settlements with non-disclosure agreements are worth about as much as wet tissue paper, it seems. And the reasons for violating them to be utterly spurious. "I am coming forward because I just feel I had to tell my story!" There doesn't seem to be any point in settling now. Perhaps it would be best to take every case to trial or arbitration and roll the dice, since apparently many people do not feel the need to abide by these NDAs anymore.

Moody oughta sue her ass into the stone age for violating the NDA.

Soo is the child his???

:doh

...And if the Second Coming occurred tomorrow then the world would be wonderful. :angel?:

See? Anyone can engage in useless speculation.
