Sen. Cory Gardner calls on Congress to end shutdown without border deal

Or does it really matter if the President won't sign it? Doesn't look like they have the votes to override his veto. Looks like they will fail in their first legislative action.

Maybe so, but it certainly speeds the process of failure on the part of the Legislature to do their job.
 
He'd say anything to get reelected. I don't trust him as far as I can throw him and he's kind of a little fat ass.
 
True. But the Senate doesn't have the number of GOP purple and at risk states, as the House did. The Senate, even with the upcoming election, still has many solid Red seats seemingly in little danger. But hey, one never knows when the tides of change may occur! It takes only one Beto, in a 5 point state, right?
