Screw that. I'm just going to show up and climb a goddam tree or something. People shouldn't have to pay to see the damn thing. What the hell is that?
I'm going to see my president sworn into office. The secret service can arrest me for that if they want. I'm not paying for it.
You would probably see more on TV. But, if you want to be in on it, see if there are people in your area going by bus. If everyone who wanted to see it drove you might find yourself unable to find a parking spot. Take a portable TV. Seeing all you guys dangling from trees is only going to give the wrong impression.
**Edit: yes it is possible. See JCCIC ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL PROGRAM
I want to drive to DC and see Obama sworn into office.
Is this even realistic? I hear all this crap about tickets given to lucky lottery winners and stuff. When the hell did people start needing tickets?
If I drive there, will I be able to see him sworn in? Or is that an unrealistic goal for some random person from Florida with no tickets/connections.
Yes, you can drive there and yes, you can see it for free.
The tickets are generally for the good seats that are close up. However I'm pretty sure that there is free attendance to the inaguation and the hooplah around it.
As far as driving...um, that depends. Most hotels are booked up in DC and the surrounding areas. Almost every major road leading into DC is going to be closed on the day of the inaguation if you arrived that day you'd be parking somewhere like arlington and walking into DC.
For me, I'm staying at my home near Dulles, just outside of Metro range and out of the idiotic jungle that DC is about to become.
How many miles from arlington to the capitol bld?
I've got an iPhone with GPS. I'm going to use that and my old aggro skates ("rollerblades") to get to the area. Once the crowd gets thick I'll put the skates in my bag and walk through the crowd to get to a spot where I can see.
Since I'm going alone, I'll be able to move much more easily than families or people with children. Since I'm young, I can climb up to a spot with a decent line of site.

(I'll just park at McDonalds or something).
Why would anyone want to go to this zoo is beyond me.
Why any man would want to spend so much time and money just to see another man is beyond me..
Sheeple are strange..
And I do not think it can be successfully done, unless a man has more dollars than cents.:rofl
If one must, why not watch it one TV ?
I'd much rather watch real people competing on TV.. or watch PCN at the farm show...
