The employee said she had asked Carnahan for a form of identification and indicated that a photo ID is typically what people show, but did not demand a photo ID, Leiendecker said.
"I respect the secretary very much, she's a very nice lady, but I'm sorry about what she seems to think of us," he said.
St. Louis election workers are trained to mention a photo document as one option for identification, Leiendecker said, but not to require it.

Perhaps that is true, but I think telling people they will be arrested if they cast a ballot, or that their polling place has changed is illegal, and I am under the impression that is what the FBI is investigating, not the other stuff.RightatNYU said:What happened was completely legal and proper procedure. What you have here is an activist Secretary of State twisting the proper actions of a poll worker in order to drum up publicity for an issue she was actively involved in. What a joke.
Eh hem.... Seems Webb is winning. Perhaps it's the Republican excuse?Navy Pride said:The democrats are getting their excuse ready in case they lose........

If there were any irregularities (and I am certain that in some districts there were), then people are quite correct in complaining.
As someone who supposedly upholds the concept of the USA as a democratic democracy I would have hoped you too would have hoped any inconsistencies would have been investigated.
However from your tone, it appears that you are very much in favor of one party rule in the USA.

Over the past few days, registered voters have been getting threats if they turn out to vote. Some of those threats are claims that they are not registered to vote, even though they are, and attempts to vote will result in jail sentences. Other tactics are robo calls claiming that their place of voting is somewhere else, and fliers which say "Skip the election" which imply that the election will be held on another day. These tactics have occured most heavily in African American districts.
Jim Crow in Florida? Absolutely. Same with Tennessee, where a rascist campaign is being waged by the GOP. Now you can add Virginia to the list. The "Old South" never died. It only changed its tactics. While this is not lynching, the results are the same. Blacks are prevented from voting. That is why the perpetrators of this campaign to prevent Americans from voting should rot in prison for what they are doing.
While the Virginia Secretary of the State Board of Elections is quite honest about what is happening, I want to see him step up to the plate when this election is over, investigate this activity, and prosecute the scumbags to the fullest extent of the law.
